Driven from their homes, farms and businesses the Karen minority in Eastern Burma is taking refuge in the mountains and jungles. The Burmese government has entire battalions killing, looting, and sexually assaulting the Christian minority in spite of a cease-fire that is supposed to be in effect. Says one grief stricken refugee, I was very happy about our leaders making a cease fire and believed in it. I had a large farm and now I have lost everything. Burma is a predominately Buddhist country and the regime in Rangoon has a long-standing policy of using the military to oppress that countrys Christians.
