Praying for the Holy Spirit Baptism

I have been praying for the Holy Spirit baptism and I strongly believe God will answer as He promised in the Bible. What spiritual exercises can I engage in to make the promise manifest sooner and also, how do I deal with a major weakness that can hinder my prayers. Thank you in anticipation of your divinely-lead responses. God bless you all.

This world is not my home anymore.

Re: Praying for the Holy Spirit Baptism

A good read... (but take out all the returns I had to put in there so it would fit on the page)

Pentecostal Papers: or, The Gift of the Holy Ghost
By Samuel Ashton Keen

Have you asked the Father for Holy Spirit to come and dwell in your temple? Then keep asking! Maybe others received before they got to this place but I got to the place where I finally told the Father, "If you don't give me your precious Holy Ghost, I'll surely die!!"

Years ago, our pastor prayed for a woman who had a disabled baby and the Lord said, "Go home and sing in tongues over her." A couple months later he asked her if she had ever received the baptism and she said, "Yes! The night the Lord told me to go home and sing in tongues over my baby... I did."

For each person the baptism is a different experience! But have an expectation that will not subside!!!

God bless you!

Re: Praying for the Holy Spirit Baptism

Are you desperate? Can you live without the Holy Spirit? Have you got enough religion to be a good Christian. Sick of defeat and besetting sin? Do not give up, beg, cry, knock until you are filled with him. Die to self.

Do not be satisfied with the argument that you got filled with the Holy Spirit at conversion. This is what people say who do not know Him.

I and do not forget to tell me about it when you were filled. I am praying for you.

Luke 11

9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread[d] from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
