 Redeeming Harry Potter??

What should our position be on Harry Potter? I meet so many Christians who watch Harry Potter and think it's 'ok'... redeeming with Christian ideas throughout the movie.

I have never watched any of HP movies or read any of the books, but why do so many think it's ok? Have we lost our discernement of evil and the occult in the chruch?

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Paying no attention as in "having nothing to do with them." Not allowing your family/children to be influenced by them.

Harry Potter books/stories etc create acceptance of the practice of witchcraft.

Quote:
It was the Communist revolutionary Lenin who said, "Give me one generation of youth, and I will transform the entire world." Now an entire generation of youth has been given to a woman named J.K. Rowling and her four books on witchcraft, known as the Harry Potter Series.

(From http://www.lasttrumpetministries.org/tracts/tract7.html )

These are books of the sort early Christian's tossed into the flames.

Pay to attention to them but do not take their influence lightly.

 Re: endoctrination

If you want to read a good book on Harry Potter look for Richard Abane's "Harry Potter and the Bible" it gives a clear expose on the first four books. You will need to look for it used though, it was published in 2001.

What's in those makes you think twice about letting any kid read them.
