| What if our Hymns were Written by the Church Today? | | I AM RESOLVED (Easy-believist version) I am resolved no longer to linger, here in the preacher's sight; God has a plan for you and your family, this has allured my sight! I am resolved to go to the preacher, leaving my seat and wife; He is the smooth one, he is the soft one, He has the words I like. I am resolved to follow the prayer, faithful and true each phrase; Here's what to say then, be sure you mean it, this is the easiest way. I am resolved to enter the church rolls keeping my deep, dark sin; God will enrich me, God shall increase me, that's why I'll enter in. (Chorus) I will hasten to there, hasten so mad and scream Hell, blackest, hottest, I will go for free . _________________ Mike Wright

| Re: What if our Hymns were Written by the Church Today? | | MISERY IN JESUS (The Hymn of a Hypocrite) I heard the old, old story, that a preacher told, so poorly That a Saviour died, on Calvary to make me so happy. I heard the preacher droning, and my mind, it started zoning, Then I regarded all my sins, and found the misery. I heard about His healing, and the treasures He's revealing, How He gives the same to you again, and caused prosperity And then I sighed, Dear Jesus, come and seal this agreement. And some old preacher told to me what is my misery. I heard about a mansion, He has filled for me in glory, I wanted to take the streets of gold and drain the crystal sea, drown out the angels singing forget the redemption story, And some great day I'll realize there is no place for me. (Chorus) O misery in Jesus, my Saviour, was never. He sought me, and fought me by His redeeming love there was a pardon, through Him, and yet I never knew Him, He plunged me, to misery, beneath the flaming fire. _________________ Mike Wright

| Re: THE CHURCH AND "THE CHURCH." 2010 | | There is a remnant, a "little flock" kept by God, in hidden places upon Earth, but seated in Heavenly splendor in Heaven.
These are worshippers, and they have their psalms and hymns. Her adoration may be feint, and barely audible to most, but she sings.
Her voice increases, as we barrel toward His coming and redemption, more and more as this day approaches. |

| Re: | | I need to write another one. I just started working on them. It struck me one day in opening assembly how much great theology that is in our hymns is neglected. I'll keep working on them and post them as they come.

| Re: | | AT MY LOSS (A Hymn at the Judgment)
Alas! Did not I pay my fee? This my only sigh. Could He account that work behind to let me by His side?
Was it my crimes that I had done, That sent Him to that tree? What a pity! His Grace unknown, Never shed on me!
Tear drops of grief can never sway, the One whose love I owe. The Lord will cast myself away, There's nothing I can do.
(Chorus) At my loss, and my loss, I never saw the light, the burden of my heart did greatly weigh. I now in pain I accept my plight. For now I'm tormented all the day. _________________ Mike Wright

Thank you! Glad you like it. I'm currently waiting for the Lord to put something on my heart to write. I have several things "in the can", but I want to make sure what I put up is from God to His people. |
