The Day the Sun Stood Still
Let not the moon rise on another night of compromise and sin.
That’s got to be our prayer if we’re ever going to know the power of God in our midst.
God give me the power to turn.
Let not the sun go down on another day of strife and discord in my home.
Let not the moon rise on another night of rebellion and confusion in my children.
Oh God! Move heaven and earth and bring my sons and daughters into their inheritance in Christ.
He said, “pray, and say to the mountains move, and they will be moved.
Command it to be moved, stand believing and you will have whatsoever you ask.”
Let not the sun go down on another powerless day in my life,
When I’m supposed to be a testimony of the grace of the Living God.
Let not the moon rise on another night of depression and regret.
Jesus, Son of God, make a difference in my life today.
Let not the sun go down on my drug infested, confused and violent neighborhood,
Without my life having made a difference to somebody.
God, don’t let the sun go down tomorrow before I have touched a soul somewhere,
Before you have reached out through me to some sick person,
And brought the loving touch of Almighty God into their life.
Don’t let the sun go down on self-consumption.
Don’t let the moon rise on another night of living for myself.
Let not the moon rise without the testimony of praise to Your faithfulness on my lips.
Let not the sun go down without my heart saying, “Jesus, you’ve been my supply,”
My Counselor, my Friend, my Defender, my Tower, my King…my God!”
