| Re: | | Pilgrim writes......
"Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Jer 9:23-24"
I was just reading that Scripture this morning. It is all about " knowing Him," and loving Him and this shows in our changed lives and passion. To encounter Jesus is to be ruined for all of this life. To love Him and to " walk,' with Him is what the desire of the saints heart is. Nothing would be too much for Him, He is our all and all and He is our grand obsession.........brother Frank

| Re: | | To glory in experimental knowing of God, thru an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, loving God with all our being and loving our neighbor, is this not the essence of christianity....thats why apostle paul speaks of love as the greatest thing....and the most excelent gift to be desired by a christian.
This doctrine of the remnant is so true in these last days of great apostasy in the church. From my personal experience and observation since i was born again, im convinced that the majority of genuinely converted christians are or have been inwardly backsliding to some degree and fallen from the grace of an intimate felowship with their Lord. Its very sad the state of carnality of believers today but most tragic is the hyporisy and blindness of religious leaders who dont prescribe the right cure to the hurting sheep or lead them to the pastures and brooks of the Good Shepard.
It takes sprititual discernmeent to see the devastating reality of many sheep gone astray and the false shepards instead of looking after the lost and wounded to bring them back to God, they just take profit of their desperate condition.
Who would listen today to a true prophet preaching about the remnant of God and the judgment of God, or a true teacher sharing the word of God undiluted and talking about the conditions of true discipleship? I doubt that many will be willing to seat under such anointed minitries and obey the word of God.

| Redi "elected" | | bless your spirit, and bless your very fingers that type the ourpouring of your heart IN Christ Jesus for such a post...which is a very goodword, to which i say amen.
humbly, i say , our only succor, is wrenching, travailing, Holy Ghost prayer of the kind that will wring us out to the extent that we become broken bread, weeping between the porch and the altar, unsung, unknown saints...unknown to all but God, who is Faithful, Who is the Yes and Amen.
myself, i, am not there yet. i have much personal work to do, i have transactions to do with God, but in His Strength, may it pleasure Him, to use me, use you, in such a ministry.
this ministry will have no "PR", no human accolades, no ego, it will not be televised, there will be little earthly resource or provision, but God willing, may we be allowed the Privledge to scale the heights of travailing prayer, as holy as a saved sinner can be.
i love you in the Lord, neil |

| Re: Redi "elected" | | My heart is so moved by the last three posts. Ah yes, the grand obsession. We will never be afraid to stand before the throne when our grand obsession has been Jesus.

Broken bread, weeping between the porch and the alter. Ah yes brother, yes and amen to that. Yes and amen to unknown men praising the majestic God of all creation, who shines His marvelous light into the hearts of men that we may know the glory of God in the face of our King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Let us stand in that illumination, in the light of the candlestick of God, fed by the bread of life which is every word that proceedeth forth from God, and the incense of our prayers rising up before the very throne of God...........brother Frank

| Re: | | A good thing to remember is the story of the Remnant in Ezra. Of the almost 2 million Jews that were in Babylon, only 42,360 (Ezra 2:64) (2.5 percent) left Babylon to rebuild Jerusalem. Yes, only a small Remnant. Here is the important part, their attitude towards those who stayed was that they were returning to rebuild the City of God and that what they were doing was for them, also. It was not a holier than thou attitude that they "were in the system", "in the camp", "stuck in their denomination", etc., etc.
Their attitude was come when you can and rebuild with us.
I think as we study the Remnant in the OT, we can learn valuable lessons regarding the Remnant today. As you read Ezra, look what happened to the "Remnant". |

I was just watching a video clip of Ravenhill last night where he said that every time you call for holiness, someone inevitably stands up and accuses you of being " holier than thou." :)
The Jewish people that stayed behind in Babylon stayed behind becuause they had becomce accustomed to the ways of Babylon, become comfortable. The Remnant people of God are not some exlusive club, they are the ' whosoever." Whosever is hungry and thirsty and sigh and cry for the " abominations of Jerusalem." (Ezek 9) .........brother Frank

| Re: | | Appolus "The Jewish people that stayed behind in Babylon stayed behind because they had becomce accustomed to the ways of Babylon, become comfortable." Lets not judge to harshly. Don't forget Daniel who was still prophesying in Babylon at least two years after the return under Ezra. Oh yes, and Esther and Mordecai who chose to stay in Shushan in Persia and became a blessing to the whole people of Israel
Pilgrim "I think as we study the Remnant in the OT, we can learn valuable lessons regarding the Remnant today." It should be remembered that the remnant of the old testament are a jewish remnant, and as such have certain national hopes and aspirations. This is particularly seen in the Psalms where the remnant are often seen crying to God for deliverance from their enemies and calling for Him to take vengeance, to smite thier enemies with a sword, and many other gruesome thoughts; natural to the jewish remnant, but not to us. Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly Psalms 3:7 (KJV) Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Psalms 28:4 (KJV) Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name Psalms 79:6 (KJV) And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Rev 6:10 (KJV)
Their inheritance was promised as an earthly one, ours a heavenly one. O yes, the last quote was from Revelation, where, I believe, the saints which are mentioned throughout are jewish.

| Re: | | Hi David, that statement was not meant to be "judgemental," just an observation from different historical perspectives. Obvioulsy there would be individuals who did not stay behind because of comfort and the ways of Babylon, yet even the Remnant that did return were very " worldly." In fact, it gave birth to the Pharisee.
I am more interested in the parallel between the worldliness of the majority of the Jews and the worldliness of Christianity today. I am coming from the perspective of crisis................brother Frank |

| Re: | | There is no remnant in the Body of Christ. Jesus Christ knows all those that the Father has given Him and exactly how many. It is not whosoever will, but of God's will to whosoever.
Man cannot choose not to be a remnant. God can and will choose the Body of Christ His Church and overshadow all that man tries to do to gain remnantship, But God has made His remnant the whole body of Christ His Church to be perfect in Christ, those who are birthed with Incorruptable Seed of the Father and now by the Christ in them have inherited their heavenly place in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 1:25-29 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
Are you perfect in Christ? As the Father see's us we are perfect because He sees Christ His only Begotten Son in us, He is our perfection. No remnant here. Just those that are in Christ Jesus and headed for the Fathers House. Where is our war? In our minds that still carry the fleshly pulls of the old man, which we are told to renew to the Mind of Christ which the Holy Spirit came to do at Pentecost, teach us who we are in Christ and what it means to have the Son of God in you. We are now the son's of God, not a remnant unless you want to call the whole body of Christ the remnant. Remnant Theology is from man not from God.

He works in us mightily and He will not quit until His work is finished, Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
