 Revival comes in Unity

In order to see revival we must , as Christians, begin to walk in the overflow of the Spirit. This is where it will start. Only that which we speak out of the overflow of His Spirit having welled up inside of us and spilling over into words and actions and demonstrations, only these things have eternal worth.

Luke 24:32 Luk 24:32 And they said to one another, Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us by the way and while He opened the Scriptures to us?

Many hearts but only one head, one heart one body one Spirit. There must be a unity of that one heart , that burning heart of Jesus. Did you notice in that Scripture that there were two disciples but reference was made to “heart,” singular? You see brothers and sisters, there are countless members of the Body of Christ but there is only one heart for every body. There is only one head for every body. We as Christians share this one burning heart of Christ, our one Head. Revival comes when we walk in unison with each other and with Christ and our hearts began to burn. Do you long to walk with a burning heart?

Psa 133:1 A Song of degrees; of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!
Psa 133:2 It is like the precious ointment on the head that ran down on the beard, Aaron's beard, that went down to the mouth of his garments;
Psa 133:3 like the dew of Hermon that came down on the mountains of Zion; for there Jehovah commanded the blessing, life forevermore.

This oil was fragrant and costly and it flows from the head, down the beard and to the very hem of the garment of Aaron. It covers the whole body from head to toe. Surely we as the people of God seek for the oil of the Holy Spirit to flow down that we may flow in the glory of the risen King, that we may walk in the Spirit of the Living God. Can there be any other way?

Isa 64:1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence.

Just as the oil flowed down from the head of Aaron all the way down to his toes, so shall the presence of the Living God flow down when “brothers dwell together in unity.” It’s the cry of our age, that the remnant would come together, that all those who seek the Lord and Him alone come together and cry out to our Heavenly Father that He would rend the heavens and come down. That the King of Kings and the Lord of glory would flow down the mountains and fill up the valley in a mighty flood of His presence. A flood that effects all and sweeps away all in the river of life that flows from the throne itself.

Eze 47:5 And he measured a thousand; and there was a torrent which I was not able to pass; for the water had risen, water to swim in, a torrent that could not be passed.

You see brothers and sisters, there is a flood that comes from the foundations of the tabernacle. Are we not the tabernacle, are we not the temple of the Living God. Are not each one of us a living stone of a temple not built by human hands but dwelt in by the Lord God? When the time to dedicate the temple comes, will not the shekinah glory of the Lord fall upon this temple? When the people of God gather together in unity, will not the Lord fall like rain and cause a river to flow that comes up and out of the very depths of who we are in Christ? That river that flowed, that torrent that Scripture talked about healed everything that it touched.

Eze 47:9 And it shall be that every living soul which swarms in every place, there where the two torrents go, that soul shall live. And there shall be very many fish, because these waters shall come there. And they shall be healed. And all shall live where the torrent goes.

“And all shall live where the torrent goes.” Praise the Living God, all shall live in the waters of life. These different fish represent all the different peoples of the world, from every tribe, every tongue ,every nation, they shall gather and cry “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty.”

Eze 47:10 And it will be, the fishermen shall stand on it from En-gedi even to En-eglaim, a spreading place for nets shall be there. Their fish shall be according to their kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea, very many.

Brothers and sisters, we are the fishermen. We have been called to be fishers of men but we can only fish in the river of life. There can be no fish caught outside of the river of life that flows from the throne of Grace. We must walk in unity so that we can be revived and fulfill our roles as fishers of men.

Psalm 46:4
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High

We as brothers and sisters must seek this river. We must come together and call out to the Living God that He would allow this river to begin to flow again amongst His Church. This river of life is indispensable , we cannot be effective outside of the presence of the Living God. We can do nothing in our own strength. We know that it is not by might nor by power but it is by His Spirit and His Spirit alone that anything can be achieved. Now what does the Lord see when He looks out over his Bride today, His church? Does He see a church that is alive in the Spirit? Does He see a people who are swimming in the river of life? Listen to the Scripture that talks about one of the few times that Jesus wept.

Luk 19:41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
Luk 19:42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
Luk 19:43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
Luk 19:44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Can I suggest brothers and sisters that the Lord is weeping today over His church, His bride? Can it be possible that all day long the Lord cries out to us and we are ignoring Him? Can it be possible that He walks amongst us and we are so dead in our religion that we fail to see Him. Is He not knocking on the doors of our heart? What a tragedy that the Lord Himself is knocking on the doors of His Church and the knocking goes unanswered because we are too busy with the cares of this world to have the time to seek Him and to answer the knocking. We are so pre-occupied with the business of the world, we are so distracted that we cannot see that even now as you read this, the enemies of God’s people are encompassing us, on every side. Shall we too miss “ the time of our visitation?”

Today we walk in the same bondages as did the people of Jerusalem 2000 years ago. They were a people under bondage. Under bondage to the Law, and the gentiles were under bondage to a thousand gods. Perhaps we think ourselves to sophisticated to be worshippers of countless gods? We would never dream of bowing down to a Baal or an Ashteroth. Yet we bow down to the gods of Wall St, we bow down to the fortress gods of our armies. We bow down to the gods of human government. And why do we bow to these gods? For the very same reasons our ancestors bowed to these gods, for food on the table, for protection, for prosperity, we put our trusts in a 100 different things and at the same time we “worship,” God. This mixing of the world and God, this mixing of “religions,” makes us no better than the Samaritans who had blended the worship of other gods with worship of the one true God. It is an abomination.

And all the time the Lord walks amongst His people and weeps and holds out His hand and knocks at the door of His people hearts and cries “come to me, come to me, find your peace in me, for I have considered the lilies of the field and I clothe the grass of the earth which today is and tomorrow is cast into the furnace. I see the sparrow that falls , I count every drop of rain that falls on the earth, I have named every star in the sky that shines above you in the darkness , stars that are without number. I know every child that walks the earth, I know every hair of every head and I the Lord your God reach out to you every day and I weep over you, I weep over you, can you not hear the cries of your God? Did you not see my Son hang upon the tree? Did I not allow Him to be stripped naked and humiliated for all the world to see and for His enemies to mock Him? This is the measure of my love for you, this is why I weep over you. I have called you by name. You are my church , my beloved my betrothed. I am knocking on the doors of your hearts. Oh that you would come to me, fall upon me, would you not see my glory? Would I not fall down upon you like rain upon a dry and parched land. It is my burning heart for you to walk in the Spirit of my glory, that you may shine like lights in the darkness of a lost and dying world. You are my peculiar people, you are my royal priesthood, a holy order that has been called to minister before the throne of grace. Come to me and I will come to you, draw near to me and I will draw near to you, search for me and I will be found by you. I come with the reward in my hand for those who diligently seek me. I am your exceeding great reward.”

Isa 57:13 When you cry, let your gathering deliver you; but the wind shall carry them all away. Vanity shall take them; but he who puts his trust in Me shall possess the land, and shall inherit My holy mountain.
Isa 57:14 And He shall say, Raise up! Raise up! Clear the way! Make the stumbling-block rise out of the way of My people.
Isa 57:15 For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity; whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Isa 57:16 For I will not contend forever, nor will I be always angry; for the spirit should fail before Me, and the souls I have made.
Isa 57:17 For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry and struck him; I hid Myself, and was angry, and he went on turning away in the way of his heart.
Isa 57:18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him. I will also lead him, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.
Isa 57:19 I create the fruit of the lips; peace, peace, to him far off, and to him near, says Jehovah; and I will heal him.
