 Prayer request

My wife is 5 weeks pregnant and has had cramps on and off during the whole time, but they have been constant over the past 24 hrs or so and a little more intense. We are not sure what is going on, but we know many women that cramp during pregnancy end up with miscarriages.

Please pray for my wife and baby. Thank you.

 Re:

Update:

We had another ultrasound today and the technician said that "it doesn't look good". She said that the placental sac is forming normally and looks about 7 1/2 weeks old, but she still can't see a baby forming. The heart is usually visible by ultrasound at 6 to 6 1/2 weeks. She said she would also be able to tell if the baby was in one of the fallopian tubes, and it doesn't appear to be. The doctor ran blood work, and said it still looks good, but admitted the ultrasound does not look promising. He said it may very well be that she is "pregnant but without a baby." Some of the cells in a fertilized egg go to developing the "environment" for a baby, and others develop the baby. It looks like the former are working fine but the latter are not. He said it is still too early to give up, and we will continue to monitor with ultrasound over the next few weeks, but he said "pray."

We are praying for a miracle, while trying to learn to rejoice in the midst of sorrow.
