you should read "born crucified by L.E Maxwell", it had a very deep impact on me early on in my christian walk, you can find it here on si in the article section, but the chapters wont be in order, but probably you would be able to find it online somewhere or on a book shop for just a few dollars.

edit: found this

 Re:

Along with what hmmhmm recommended, I would also submit "The Seven Sayings of the Saviour on the Cross" by A.W. Pink. It's the most insightful commentary I've read on the cross to date, chock full of wisdom and scripture references and Pink's simply-written yet deeply profound manner of conveying truth and grace whilst exalting Jesus Christ to the uppermost.

Read it online here
Purchase it here

Another excellent resource is by Derek Prince. He has a book and a sermon you can listen to online called, The Divine Exchange

Explanation copied from that page, "These messages are taken from a series entitled The Fullness of the Cross (Product Codes FC1-4) which is 24 messages in total. The Divine Exchange is covered in 5 of those messages taken from the first volume, FC1. Click the sound icon to listen to the message and click on the text to read along with the transcript."

Good reading, with all the resources presented, you should be busy into the New Year!! (huge grin)

*** Also, anything you find in the following link about the New Covenant by Zac Poonen will bless you also!

God bless you!

C.J. Mahaney's The Cross Centered Life is on this topic from a pastoral and practical point of view.

With care in Christ...

 Re:

I've yet to finish it, but have found it a very good read: The Death of Christ by James Denney is quite an awesome read. Brother Eli Brayley turned me onto this book, of which I am very thankful to have picked up to read. It can be a bit scholarly and technical in some places, but it is very good reading just the same.
