 Who is your favorite author?

Who is your favorite author and why do you like them?

Mine is Thomas Watson. His combination of warm theology and heartfelt piety is wonderful. He always spurs me on to seek the Lord more fervently and to embrace His truth more cordially.

With care in Christ...

T. Austin Sparks. His breadth and ideas seem Apostolic to me, in almost every paragraph. He is able to craft the word together, like a basket, that allows me to understand, and see complex issues in a common way. He addresses an almost complete spectrum of Christian issues, from the mystic realm, to the idea of complete warfare.

I remember reading Sparks and my heart would burn like an ember; and I devoured him, for hours at a time, with excitement. He carried me through a time of isolation, and pointed me to the Jesus of understanding..."With all of your understanding, get understanding!"

I see him as the greatest Bible teacher of our time....[ He passed in the early 70s..]...He mentored Watchman Nee.....

I've had several and if I have to name one right now it's Adolf Schlatter. His understanding of the Gospels and the rest of the NT is amazing.
