You are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from disaster.
Please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised, saying, The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.
Do not remember against us our former iniquities; let your compassion come speedily to meet us. . . . Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for your name's sake!Though our iniquities testify against us, act, O Lord, for your name's sake; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you. . . . We acknowledge our wickedness, O Lord, and the iniquity of our fathers, for we have sinned against you.
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.
