The Church Under Pressure
With guest speakers: Ron Bailey and Johan Companjen of Open Doors.
August 1st - 7th 2009, Rora House, Liverton, Devon New Life Conference website
(If you find the website a bit dark, I suggest you Select All in the Edit menu, and view it in reverse contrast.)
No conference fee for those under 18. Youth have their own events.
Note: the conference fee is payable by everyone else, but the cost of accommodation will depend on whether you camp, or rent rooms locally.
Most people bring their own tents, but some are available for hire, with other camping equipment.
Booking conference by 20th June costs the least, and your pitch by 1st July, for cheaper camping. (See Booking Form pdf for prices.)
Day visitors are asked to book so that the maximum numbers for the meeting tents can be established, so that the correct size of marquee can be hired.
I have not checked out public transport, but if you plan in advance with the organisers, to arrive at a local station or bus stop, a lift for the last miles can be arranged.
For a taste of the kind of praise and preaching you might expect, old messages are available through the website of the local radio station which is set up on the campsite each year for two weeks. Follow the 'downloads' options.
Once you find them, older messages can be located by changing the year in the URL. http://www.newliferadio.co.uk/
For those interested in international missions, there is a strong missionary emphasis at this conference, which does not shine through the website.
These are better covered here.
