The "Old Fashioned Way" . . .Do it again Lord.
Lovely, but is there a danger that when we speak of doing things in an old fashioned way that we tend to think of some sort of romantic age when things where better? I know folks who hark back to say the 1950's when we are living nearly ten years into a new millenium and God has promised - "Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert." Isa 43:19
I see what you're saying but I think the theme of the song is an encouragement to hark back to what is now seen as an 'old fashioned way' which in reality is the the true way where people lived by the book and preached by the book and walked by the book. Look at it as more of a move away from the 'New fashioned ways' which arent working!I was there when she sang it and it stirred me greatly :-)
