 Who shot J.R.?

Who shot J.R.?

I will always remember the Sunday night my pastor said, with a tear in his eye, “There are more people tonight in America concerned with who shot J.R. than with their eternal resting place.”

It’s sad when petty concerns of this world take over our thoughts; even more so when fictional trash is responsible.

Grace and peace

**edit**

Who shot J.R.? was an advertising catch phrase that American network CBS created in 1980 to promote the television show Dallas

I remember that quite well. I remember seeing a chocolate pistol (...only in the south!) with the label on it "Who shot J.R.?".

I understand your point, and isnt it so true?

J.R. was the leading character in the TV show Dallas. He was shot in a cliffhanger episode and the nation was left wondering who the shooter was. Magazines…news shows…billboards... The slogan,” Who shot J.R.?” was everywhere.

I was just making a point about how we sometimes worry about things we shouldn’t and how it’s even more tragic when we become preoccupied with fiction.
