Purpose for Missions

Purpose for Missions

Why we serve.

It is the objective of this document to outline the biblical interpretation of the missions outreach in philosophy and practice.

As with any ministry, the missions program should be in agreement with the entire work of the Bible . In accordance not only with the New Testament but with the Old Testament as the Spirit of Christ faithfully revealed His divine will to all the earth using any and all resources that pleased Him .

The purpose of any work of the church is to share the truth of the Gospel . God has been faithful to confirm to man’s heart the eternal relationship with Him we have willfully exchanged for a lifetime of slavery to serve sin . Upon this recognition the Holy Spirit reveals to man His desperate need for a Savior, and a desire to recompense to the Father the honor and glory that only He deserves through eternal adoration of a clean and pure heart . Through Christ’s perfect life and holy passion we have been redeemed to the Father to give Him this reasonable act of service with the properly prepared vessel of operation .

Because we have been adopted into God’s heavenly family, we have also been given the heavenly work , which Christ Himself was given – to do the will of the Father. God has graciously revealed to us this mystery in Jesus Christ. In Christ, we see clearly the will of the Father desiring to reconcile His creation to Himself . Christ then, is the centerpiece for everything created . Eternal worship and glory is manifested through our service. It is crucial for Christians to recognize that our lives, not only our ministries should be perpetual testimonies to the power of the Spirit and the love of God which is revealed in us by the gift of salvation in Jesus Christ. We are eternally devoted to magnifying Christ in all we do and how we do it .

Furthermore, we are fully convinced by the teaching of the Scriptures that the Holy Spirit would also not have us be a respecter of persons . Regardless of social standing, race, family history, length of years in the ministry; God alone is worthy and He alone is the reason for our service towards mankind . Serving mankind in Christ’s name is solely purposed in magnifying the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that message alone . We are to lay aside any thought or presumption that we are to serve humanity motivated by compassion or sympathy for mankind . Similarly we do not serve as ministers to humanity because we desire anything in return from God or man . It is purely out of the working of the Holy Spirit in our hearts that we, in a love birthed in us by God, serve humanity for Christ’s sake . In addition, it is by the receipt of this gift of love by God through Christ that we are motivated to take up this heavenly commission .

 Re: Purpose for Missions

Amen. Thank you, sir.

I like the simple way Keith Green sang it in the song Romans vii,

"I want to love them, the way You do,
I want to serve them, by serving You"

By serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loving Him, we love and serve one another.
