  Hurricane Gustav

BELLE CHASE, Louisiana (CNN) -- A hurricane watch was issued Saturday afternoon for southeastern Texas to the Alabama-Florida border as Hurricane Gustav's sustained winds reached 150 mph on its expected path to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

 Re: Hurricane Gustav

Right now it looks like Gustav will be coming right to the west of where I live, which will subject us to the worst of the wind. We’re about 80 miles inland, so hopefully the hurricane will lose strength quickly when it makes landfall, but they are predicting (right now anyway) that it will be a category 4 or strong category 3 when that happens sometime Monday afternoon.

So much is up in the air as we wait to see what happens. People are getting prepared. And they are scared. This weekend marks the 3 year anniversary of hurricane Katrina. This is also the weekend of Southern Decadence in New Orleans – the gay mardi gras. Just like when Katrina hit.

We are praying that God would have mercy on us and that the storm would disintegrate. We saw that happen with hurricane Lilly several years ago.

Please pray for the people of Louisiana (and other areas of the Gulf Coast that may be affected). Pray for our leaders. Last time was a big mess.
