So I know I am beating a dead horse with this thread.
Reformer, hopefully you don't feel the need to apologize. The thread wasn't excessive, and your question was a sincere one.
I had one other thought one this issue. I was considering that our tolerance level for what we would feel is compromise, is probably greater in a church we are already attending, while much lower if we were looking for a church fellowship to be a part of. That is to say, many of the churches we choose to remain loyal to, would not be places we would choose if we were looking for a church. I'm not sure if this type of loyalty is a healthy or unhealthy double standard...but I think it might be the case for many of us. Maybe I'm wrong though.
