Why havent we seen large-scale revivalin Britain for 100 years?100 years ago. there was revival in Wales, but we have seen only small outbreaks of revival in Britain since, and none since the 1950's. Do you wonder why this country has not seen a major revival for 100 years? I can give you the answer in eight sentences.1. Because of liberalism in the churches: most Christians dont believe the Bible.2. Because of worldliness in the churches: most Christians dont believe in holiness and separation.3. Because of prayerlessness in the churches: most Christians dont believe in the power of prayer.4. Because of universalism in the churches: most Christians dont believe in hell.5. Because of complacency in the churches: most Christians dont believe they need reviving.6. Because of unwillingness to accept responsibility in the churches: most Christians dont believe the state of the country is their fault.7. Because of faithlessness in the churches: most Christians dont believe they can pray down revival.8. Because of laziness in the churches: most Christians wont pay the price of revival. The tragedy is that the longer we go on without revival, the worse the Church becomes, the worse the nation becomes, and the more difficult it becomes to pray down revival.from: http://www.calltoprayer.org.uk/whynorevivaluk.html

In reading this article, one notices the word unbelief mentioned considerably. It is because of unbelief that we don't see anything like we want to see take place in our nations.Prayerlessness and not fasting are reasons why things are the way they are.We will not sacrifice one day of food to see God glorified.Either the flesh is denied, or it thrives. When we surrender our will, in favour of God's, and become living sacrifices, God will move.God wondered that there was no intercessor, Isaiah 59v16. Does He still wonder?I listened to the featured sermon by Willie Mullan about Daniel's 21 Days of Prayer.Listen to it, it speaks for itself.
These are all very good reasons why there has been no revival in Great Britian for the last 100 years. It is also makes a good case of why there is such a great need for revival in Great Britian. It does not take all of the church in Great Britian to repent and pray for revival. Throughout the history of revivals, the travail and intercession of small pockets of intercessors has brought the fire of God down on nations. I am thinking of the Hebrides revival where two sisters in their 80's began interceding for revival, and a great move of God broke out on that whole region. The poor spiritual condition of Great Britian and just about all of Europe should bring the saints to their knees to cry out for revival for a country that has given us many great men and women of God that have blessed the Church throughout the centuries.
