When you have wisdom, you can have anything.

When you have wisdom, you can have anything.

- If you have wisdom, you'll not only be able to make money, you'll know how to keep it.
- If you have wisdom, you'll be able to find and develop lasting friendships.
- If you have wisdom, you'll know what to say and when to say it.
- If you have wisdom, you'll know how to avoid a lot of the misery that people bring on themselves, and you'll know how to maximize your personal happiness.
- If you have wisdom, you'll be able to raise your kids the right way.
- If you have wisdom, you'll be able to sleep at night, because you won't be dreading the consequences of your actions.

When you have wisdom, you have everything. So you and I had better wise up!

 Re: When you have wisdom, you can have anything.

As I read one of the books written by King Solomon it prompts me to ask 2 questions:

Which would you choose 1 or 2

1. Fame and riches

2. happiness, knowledge and wisdom

According to Solomon, God tends to give people #1 or #2 but rarely both simultaneous. I reflect on Solomon's words when the wicked donate their wealth to charity.

Greetings Loveyouall,
Should we not consiter,also that there are two
types of wisdom? The one is the `wisdom of this world' ...and the other is `the wisdom that is from above'...the wisdom that ONLY God gives.
Grace be to you,
Ebeth

But with love you can give everything!

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

In Christ,

Ron

Greetings loveyouall,

I wonder where you got the content of your leading post?

Please could you share the title and author?

I confess concern that the first in your list of good wisdoms to have, is

Quote:
If you have wisdom, you'll not only be able to make money, you'll know how to keep it.

Why would a Christian want to keep their money?

As this is the priority given by the writer, it is most definitely at odds with scripture, where money is a snare to those who overvalue its power.

Quote:
If you have wisdom, you'll be able to find and develop lasting friendships.

Is not friendship with Jesus Christ, the only lasting friendship we require?

Quote:
If you have wisdom, you'll know what to say and when to say it.

By whose standard? The Lord tells us not to worry about what we'll say in some circumstances - that He will give us a mouth and wisdom in the very hour we need it. So what kind of wisdom is being recmmended here?

Quote:
If you have wisdom, you'll know how to avoid a lot of the misery that people bring on themselves, and you'll know how to maximize your personal happiness.

Personal happiness is the last thing on my mind these days.

The misery that people bring on themselves comes through trying to get something from God which can be obtained only by giving Him everything.

I know about this one. It took years to give up my unequal struggle. You know the old quip 'I would have been happy to compromise, but God wanted everything His own way'. Amen. So it should be!

Quote:
If you have wisdom, you'll be able to raise your kids the right way.

This must be the fear of the Lord type wisdom, where you remember that you are 'God' in their lives, and you will answer to Him for how you represent Him. You introduce them to His word, prayer, and praise, from a very early age, and consciously you place them firmly in His care, dedicating their lives to His service, as soon as possible, knowing there will be some in your local church family who will go on praying for them, especially if something happens to you.

Proverbs 3
1 My son, forget not my law;
but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life,
and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:
bind them about thy neck;
write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour
and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes:
fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel,
and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance,
and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty,
and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD;
neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth;
even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver,
and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies:
and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Quote:
If you have wisdom, you'll be able to sleep at night, because you won't be dreading the consequences of your actions.

But, if you can't sleep at night, be assured God wants to speak to you about something, and say, 'Speak, Lord. Thy servant heareth'.

If you have the wisdom of which Christ spoke, which is justified by her children, you'll love to be the subject of His divine correction
- that you may live.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable,
gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
