Do YOU Have the Mind of CHRIST? ...

(something I woke up thinking about this morning ... Just what is the mind of Christ?)

Jesus answered it this way ...

John.5:[30] I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

So the mind of Christ is to do His Father's will ... But just what is the Father's will? ... Jesus answers again ...

Matt.18: [11] For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. [12] How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? [13] And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. [14] Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Hmmmm, Jesus states that the Father's will is that none of mankind should perish into eternal hell fire ... So what has the Father done to prevent this? ... The prophet Isaiah prophesied the Father's solution ...

Isa.53: [3] He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. [7] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. [8] He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. [9] And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. [10] Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him.

Then the Apostle John penned the Father's solution with crystal clarity ...

John.3: [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Now why should we have the mind of Christ? ... Paul said ...

Phil.2: [5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Hmmmm, so likewise we should have the mind of Christ so as to do the Father's will, by following His example of taking on the form of a servant, in humbleness and obedience, even unto death if the Father decrees ... Christ gave His life for us to please His Father ... We in turn should give our lives to please the Father, via Christ's blood and example, because we're the Father's gift (Bride/Church) to His Son for His love and obedience to His will ... Jesus Himself stated this ...

John.10: [14] I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. [15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. [16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. [17] Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. [18] No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. [27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. [30] I and my Father are one.

The bottom line is we're all the property of God the Father, redeemed thru the shed blood of God the Son, and empowered to take on the mind of Christ by God the Holy Ghost ... So just what is it that we "gifts of God to Christ" are supposed to be doing with our renewed Holy Ghost empowered minds of Christ? ... Jesus said it this simply ...

Mark.16: [15] Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Matt.28:[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matt.22: [37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

John.13: [34] A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Seems to me that the entire plan, and mind set of God, is just one big love fest ... God the Father loved us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son in order that we may be redeemed ... God the Son Gave His life willingly first because of His love for His Father, and subsequently because of His great love and compassion for us ... Then we're supposed to return our love to the Father for His love to us via His Son, by accepting His Son as our Savior, and then to even further magnify our love to the Father by exemplifying Christ sacrificial servant's attitude toward our fellowman, both saved and unsaved ... And then as if The Father and Son had not loved one another and us enough, They sent God the Holy Spirit to enable us to "do all things thru Christ Jesus who strengthens us" to the eternal glory of GOD ...

I'm sure that we will all agree that God has done His part ... but what about us? ...

REVIVE US AGAIN OH GOD TO THE SIMPLICITY OF YOUR LOVE AND IT'S SUBSEQUENT GREAT COMMISION OF THAT LOVE ... AND LORD REBUKE OUR ENEMY AND THE DOCTRINES OF COMPLEXITY WITH WHICH HE HAS STUPEFIED YOUR CHURCH, AND MAKE US AGAIN TO RETURN TO OUR FIRST WORK, THAT OF LIFTING UP CHRIST THAT ALL MEN MIGHT BE DRAWN UNTO HIM ... WE LOVE YOU GOD ... FATHER ... SON & HOLY SPIRIT ... AND KNOW THAT YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE US, NOR FORSAKE US, LO TO THE END OF THE WORLD ... IN JESUS NAME ... AMEN
