Your God whom you constantly serve

Saints,

God's word has been speaking to my heart during much study.

One scripture I wanted to bring to your attention is this -

"Your God whom you constantly serve will deliver you" Daniel 6:16

The emphasis for me are on the words constantly serve. Not just on Sundays, not just when it is convenient but constantly.

Very powerful word and an exhortation to follow the Great Commandment. To serve Him and to love Him with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind - constantly.

Murray

Re: Your God whom you constantly serve

Saints,

I wanted to share two more scriptures that I read last night from Ezekiel.

"And the sound of a carefree multitude was with her"
Ezekiel 23:42

"Thus says the Lord God, 'Behold, I am about to profane My sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and the delight of your soul"
Ezekiel 24:21

 Re:

Those scriptures in Ezekiel stood out, 'carefree multitude' and 'pride of your power'.

Maybe God is speaking to a carefree Christian west. Or maybe 'the pride of your power' in the Christian west is the abundance that it has.

Maybe.

God bless.

 Re:

WOW!!! There's a lot in these brief two posts, Murray!

The Lord is speaking, but are we listening.

I have to go soon but hope to come back to this after a bit of "ruminating" (chewing over) :-)

The people were supposed to be the people of God, yet they were living carelessly, worshipping idols, and all the time priding themselves, "God is with us!"

Just like the Church?

In the time of Isauah and King Hezekiah the Lord saved Jerusalem, from a terrible enemy invasion. The apostate Northern kingdom was swept away, but Jerusalem and Judah survived. The Lord said He protected the city "for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David"

When the Babylonians invaded, nearly everyone probably thought that He would do the same. The false prophets proclaimed it loudly, and persecuted Jeremiah because he said that this time God wouldn't save them.

Just like the Church?

And yet, the true men and women of God went through the Babylonian captivity, were purified, and came out the other side.

Just like the Church?

Blessings

 Re:

Saints,

"If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened"
Psalm 66:18

"To whom can I speak and give warning?
Who will listen to me?
Their ears are closed so they cannot hear.
The word of the Lord is offensive to them;
they find no pleasure in it."
Jeremiah 6:10
