THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE UNASHAMED

I am a part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.

I have the Holy Spirit Power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made.

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.

I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tame visions, mundane talking, chintzy giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity.

I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.

I now live by presence, learn by faith, love by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power.

My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions few, my Guide is reliable, my mission is clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, deterred, lured away, turned back, diluted, or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, back up, let up, or shut up until I've preached up, prayed up, paid up, stored up, and stayed up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I must go until He returns, give until I drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes.

And when He comes to get His own, He will have no problem recognizing me. My colors will be clear for "I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.." (Romans 1:16)

Brother, there was a reaction against this as soon as reading the first few lines - seemed like the Holy Spirit's warning.

Maybe because there's so much of "I AM, I WILL, I won't..." as if it all depended on self, not on the Lord?

I never heard of Bob Moorehead before, so that can't be the reason, but there's a loud warning bell here. The words "sound good", but...

"I'll try to look up some info. about this man, or maybe someone else can shed some light?

In Him

looked up his name and found a very dodgy site. Check it out. All about personal development and "anything goes" mysticism, including TM

And yet the words seem to have been written by someone else...

So I don't know...

Mea culpa...Post edited and the attribution corrected: Dr. Moorehead quotes it in one of his books and thus the attribution many times falls to him ...

Authorship notes from many sites state...

According to Dr. Moorehead's son, a man in Africa who was killed for his faith had a copy of The Fellowship of the Unshamed on him when he was killed...

This poem was not by Dr. Bob Moorehead, but rather an African Martyr for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Written by a young pastor in Africa who was martyred for his faith. The note was found in his office after his death.

Written by a young African leader and tacked on the wall of his house, days before he was brutally murdered because of his faith and preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Where is the passionate love for "living the life?" While the attribution is unclear but the passion to "Walk the walk" and not just "talk the talk" is not...

Most assuredly it is ONLY through His power, grace and mercy that I can fulfill His will but I must get off of the bench and fight the battle as long as He will me to fight.

Oh dear many times do we read into messages that it is "they" that are the ones that are called to step up and step into the fray. When I finally come before my God, I and only I will be responsible for using the gifts I have been given to the enhancement of His kingdom.

Don't Be a Nobody

Once upon a time there were four men named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it.

But Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it.

But Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about it, because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, and Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody and Nobody did the job that Anybody could have done in the first place.

Too much time spent on the sidelines posturing, critiquing and criticising may make us 'heavenly minded' but not spending any time in the game will make us absolutely no earthly good to our savior.
