How is it that God aboveHas never gone on strikeBecause he was not treated fairIn things He didn't like.If only once He'd given up,And said, 'That's it, I'm through!I've had enough of those on earth,So this is what I'll do;I'll give my orders to the sun -'Cut off the heat supply!'And to the moon - 'Give no moreLight, and run the ocean dry.'Then just to make things really toughAnd put the pressures on,'Turn off the vital oxygenTill every breath is gone!'You know, He would be justifiedIf fairness was the game. For no one has been abusedOr met with more disdainThan God, any yet He carries onSupplying you and meWith all the favors of His graceAnd everything for free.Men say they want a better dealAnd so on strike they go.But what a deal we've givenTo God to whom all things we owe.We don't care whom we hurtTo gain the things we like. But what a mess we'd all be inIf God should go on strike!!Author Unknown

Thank you for posting this. I think of when God declared His name to Moses in Exodus 34."6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation."It's true that the day of God's mercy will come to an end and that judgment will come to those who refuse to repent- but imagine if God gave us what we deserved right away. The realization that God has loved us when we His enemies and extended peace to us through Christ and gives us space to repent is amazing. How different are God's ways than man's ways!
