 Dr. John Piper

Hi
Can you folks help me understand If John Piper is a sound teacher,I started listening to him recently teach through Romans on God's Sovereignty and found it to be great food for my spirit,can you folks share your opinions on this teacher who appears to be very Biblically sound
I am trying to save up to purchase his teachings on Romans,let me know what you think about him

From what I've read by others online, non-Calvinists hate that he's Calvinist. Many Calvinists think he's not Calvinist enough. A few hyper-Calvinists consider him Catholic-in-disguise, saying we are "saved by faith, through grace".

For myself, I say that if you can sort through soteriology for yourself, you'll be blessed by a man who seems to love the Lord passionately.

I have been blessed by his teaching,
He really loves the Lord.
His passion is very real.
He has blessed my life in many by his teaching

Somtimes hard tounderstand but worth reading or listening to..

Brother his teachings on Romans 8 and 9 alone are well worth listening to.

I would double check to see if you can't download them from here first

theopenlife I don't understand two comments. Maybe you can take a moment to explain. You said, "some consider Piper Catholic in disguise i.e., "saved by faith through grace." Don't Catholics believe the antithesis of that--saved by works.

And, also maybe you could explain to us what soteriology means and how it applies in this discussion?

;-) Even John Calvin isn't Calvinisitc enough for some of his followers.
