| Churches in Atlanta? | | Anybody know of any good solid churches in the ATL? I know I don't have to say it on this site, but obviously looking for glory of God Bible preaching. Not particular to denomination or Calvin/Arminian leanings. Just no hint of emerging or Word-Faith. Thanks. _________________ Denver McDaniel

| Re: Churches in Atlanta? | | I know a great church in Atlanta. It's called Church of the Apostles and the pastor is Michael Youseff. He's Egyptian, and man does he ever preach the word. I've never been there, but I've seen him on TV, heard him on radio, and read one of his books. This guy's for real. I have some friends who attend this church. It's on Northside Parkway. Here's their website link http://www.apostles.org/ |

| Re: | | I used to listen to Michael Youseff but he is very Calvinistic, if this means anything to you. Whether this is still the case, I do not know because I no longer listen to Him. But he does have a lot of good things to say.
You could try asking God for Holy Spirit direction and see where he would lead you...and I am sure you have done this...
Just my opinion....

| Re: | | Charles Stanley is pretty good at First Baptist of Atlanta: http://www.fba.org/
Michael Youssef is also pretty good, at Church of the Apostles, as mentioned.
I have friends that go to Mt Paran Church of God, which is supposed to be pretty solid: http://www.mountparan.com/
I have some friends that attend many different churches downtown, but I will be honest, I haven't heard of any church that where there is a pillar of flame at the moment. If revival was going on somewhere in Atlanta I would go there and invite you. _________________ Hal Bachman

| Re: | | Anybody know anything else about Mt Paran Church of God? I looked at their website and it looks like they might lean a little too much on life enhancement gospel and the I/me we/us. I really have no idea, which is why I ask.
BTW my inquiries are for the sake of a good friend who will be living in ATL for the next 3 months. thanks again. _________________ Denver McDaniel

| Re: | | BYD,
I have asked someone I respect a great deal who goes there to answer your question. I think he will shoot pretty straight. I will let you know what he says. _________________ Hal Bachman
