Jesus died to accomplish several things.Daniel 9:24 [speaking of Jesus, He would come],"to finish the transgression , and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Take all the highlighted terms and study them in the light of what Paul said in his letters to the Romans, Galations, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians.

To start you off, referring to "to make an end of sins". John the Baptist said in John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

 Re: Why did Jesus die

Very good Compliments, reminded of;

The Son of Man goes, as it has been written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born. Mat 26:24

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Joh 15:13,14

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:8

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 12:2

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Eph 2:15-18

... even as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mat 20:28
