David said in, Ps 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:If the brother has repented before God. He has been forgiven. Will it benefit others to know his sin? No! Confess only to the extent that it is known. "Love covers a multitude of sins" is a verse for the one who knows about anothers sin. We should never repeat to another what is confessed to us in confidence. God is the forgiver of sin. We should only confess "our own" sin to men if it is needed to clear our testimony."He that covereth his sin shall not prosper" is a verse for the one who has fallen, "confess and forsake" is the solution. Believe in the complete work of redemption and cleansing thru the precious blood of Jesus.John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.God is love,Dan

It is interesting to note the large amounts of people "viewing" this thread...while I am sure many are reading it out of curiosity, I tend to believe that there is an even greater number viewing it because they can in one way or another "relate" or have concerns about themselves or someone else that they care about. It is a tremendous comfort to know that this is a site that will encourage one another and extend the Grace of God to a brother or sister who is sincerely wanting to Walk in Truth.Here4Him, thank you for the courage to present this situation...We may never know the "many, many, many" who are walking forward in Hope and Victory because of your humility and honest heart.
Okay, as an Elder in a Non-Denominational independent Christian church, I'll play the advocate for the opposition....
must the man confess all to his church and the senior leaders?
Is he unfit for any further ministry for the Lord? Must he resign?
It is amazing how someone can use an existing familarity to people you already know, to minimize a problem, so the people you know take pity and say what you like them to say.If the sexual sin is watching child porn and his position in church is organising intimate activities with children, I am sure you will not think the same.Here4HIM has been using different aliases to approach female online with inappropriate sexual inuendo, when pressure to be caught is high, he stopped for a while, then when he feels more comfortable, he starts again. It has not only happened once.Do you know nothing online can be actually deleted. Everything can be archived with forensic.
Here's a hypothetical:A slanderous rumor is started by a source outside the church regarding a member that is obviously not true yet it brings division within the church, unfair treatment by peers and the resulting stress starts to affect that person's ability to minister fully. The Senior Pastor, pending the member's permission, calls forth an assembly of the elders and members wherein he addresses the issues, and sets the record straight. Yet enough personal damage has been done to the point that starts to affect the overall unity and integrity of the church. What should be done in such a case of slander towards an innocent?
I was listening to A Disciplined Life: In Relation to Our Body by Zac Poonen today. It is concerning this topic and I thought if you haven't heard it, some of you would want to.
