 The Joy of the Lord

As of late I have been burdened by my awareness of the Laodicean state of the church at large. I often find myself weeping before the Lord in prayer. Most of us here share this same burden. We see the lack of holiness, the empty preaching et al, and it grieves us. I have been so burdened lately that I can’t sit in on the morning service. I feel compelled to pray and have taken to finding a quiet place in the building to intercede for the service.

Yesterday, as the service was drawing to a close, The Lord gave me a single verse.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always

Rejoice: Greek: chairo {khah'-ee-ro}
1) to rejoice, be glad
2) to rejoice exceedingly
3) to be well, thrive
4) in salutations, hail!
5) at the beginning of letters: to give one greeting, salute

rejoice occurs 192 times in 183 verses in the KJV

 Re: The Joy of the Lord

That is awesome John173. It's right on with what someone was teaching at my church this week. Rejoice always!

And the small group my friend and I lead read Thessalonians this week. That verse was one of the things we talked about.
