"Pilgrim and Sojourner." - 1 Peter 2:11

I feel this message is also for "Many" of the saints. We get too busy for God and our time with Him is very little.

Truely about death to a relationship that the business can cause and Jesus says:

Look here! "I stand at the door and knock - If you hear Me calling and open the door - I will - come in and we will share a meal as friends. (relationship)

It can't get any better than that.

The trick of the enemy is to keep us to busy - to occupied with worldly things - Time to be like Mary and sit at His feet.

May we heed His call - Press In and put our focus on Christ.

God Bless, Lynn

This merchandising is called "cultural relevancy'...I wonder if we were trying to attract a tribe of cannabilistic headhunters to church how culturally relevant we could allow ourselves to become.

This is a correct word we have allowed the Church in our modern day North American lifestyle to be a god of "merchandising" and "commercialism". God will not be mocked for that a man sows he will also reap. The Church is going to "reap" what it has been sowing. I am reminded of that popular phrase: "If you try to win the world by being like the world the world will win you!" I believe it is close or is already happening where the world is winning over the church and the people of God are being trodden under the foot of men. We have nothing to offer the world when we comprmise and settle for what our busy, self-sufficient type of modern day Christianity affords us.

I would love to know of a better way

"My people are destroyed for lack of knoweldge." This tradegy is wide-spread but thank God for the remnant of godly people that are living and raising children under the nurture and admonition of the Lord. I would encourage you to continue to seek God's "best" his "perfect" and do not settle for anything less. Press on, Christian soldiers!

I just finished reading Busy, strong and without God. Wow, how accurate. Thankyou again for this wonderful message, as it brought back memories of when my best times with the Lord were alone at home in worship and prayer. Yes agree there is something amiss in some Churches. I am reminded Of John 2 v16 when Jesus arrived in the Temple and to those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!" The dove represents the Holy Spirit, and you cannot put a price on Him or market Him He is not for sale, He is God's gift to us and to quide us, comfort us and restrain and teach us. My prayer would be to see Christ lifted up and God's will be done in the Church for His Glory. God bless.

"The Apostle James wrote this 2000 years ago and it is a fresh word for our generation may we take heed to it: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” Surely also the older prophet word given by Joel needs to taken heed to also: “Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

Stirring word brother Greg, thank you.

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up." This is what I need my dear brother: "That He shall lift me up." My sin is ever before me and I have sinned against the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, I have sinned against Him alone and done evil in His sight. Oh, that He would break me and bring me to the end of myself so that nothing remains of me, but only Christ living in me and revealed in me.

May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering.

I had hard time to talk to youth pastor in the church who told me that God has led him to have a pool party for the teenagers every week in the summer and throwing halloween party to gather more youngsters. And I am talking about the church and a denomination who boasts so much on being sound in doctrines.

I was so heart broken and cried out before God to open the eyes of this youth pastor. I asked him if he has ever read Leonard Ravenhill or A W Tozer for their lamentations over the carnality in the church and he told me that I am going into circles....!

I stopped sending my children to youth ministry where pastor knows nothing but pool party as a fellowship. We started teaching our children daily for about half hour before they go to bed.

I fully agree that we are living in a time where we need to be very alert sending our children to youth ministry. Not only the mega churches but the many of the churches who claim to be biblical also are drifting away....

May God have mercy upon us.

The N.American Church, fighting for so many years against the world, holding on to the Word of God,intil the last days when the N.American Church thinking they are winning the battle, letting their guard down, the world tricking her that its running away acting like they gave up leaving this well made horse(full of worldly things inside this horse). American Church, taking the horse inside their property, not knowing how dangerous it is. Not knowing that the world is planning to destroy the Church secretly and it does. How? Why? Because the American Church had taking the worldly mixing it with the godly, thinking, its ok, its harmless, but to blind that the world had already conquered her. But theyre still a group that left from her, knowing that it was a bad idea to take this horse. And now had joined the true Church, with Christ our Bridegroom. Protecting us and warning us about these things. Still holding on to the Word of God!

God Bless

Amen David. I thought of these verses as I read your post: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." May this testimony be a reality in our life: "But God forbid that I should glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world." "I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine."

my brother Greg,
i would say "that is a Good Word" , but even to say as such seems like just a religious platitude....its a NEEDED Word.....but in its forthtelling, its not "good"....not a "good" diagnosis.....a true let me say this, That is a NEEDED DIAGNOSIS for the Body this very day.

i responded to something you posted about the "narcissitic" generation, and i believe i wrote about "weeping between the porch and the altar"....and then i read this conclusion you wrote:

Surely also the older prophet word given by Joel needs to taken heed to also: “Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

so i took all that was written, as a True Word....but all hope is NOT LOST....let me testify, i was in Luke this morning, the first 7 chapters, and for some reason, the LORD had me underlining two words, "in the wilderness" and "in the desolate places"....and what happpened in all this places was PRAYER....people think of the 'wilderness' or the "desolate places" as not good places, but i dont agree. These are good places, when all seems lost, or so garish, filled with distractions.

you and the Holy Ghost concluded:

Oh Church of God to our knees! J. Hudson Taylor’s advice to his missionaries was: "You must go forward on your knees." William Cowper said "Satan trembles when he sees the weakest saint upon his knees." The Church need to be found on its knees in our day, may we be found there when God comes.

brother Greg, saints, we have SO many established churches, buildings, and in them, men, who are "pastor". and you have a "board of elders"....and i dont speak ill of ANY of these ekklesia, but lets say the prayer meeting is not the center of that would be rather difficult for one saint to come into any ALREADY ESTABLISHED church, and to implore the pastor, the elders by telling them in the Leading of the Lord, "travailing prayer is our only hope, its all we have left"...and then to expect them to suddenly exclaim, "YES!!! dear brother you speak well!!!...lets do that!!!"

like lighting "little candles" across a nation, why not by two and threes, where we are, configure a 'house of prayer'?....if you're in the city, it can a storefront, if you're in the country, it can be a barn, or a storefront in a town of 400 souls....or as He has been leading me, have my neighbor build a humble 20 by 20 house of prayer, simple, unadorned.......

houses of "party" spirit, sectarian spirit, or "man" led.....Beg Jesus to Pastor these meetings....travailing Holy Ghost prayer...Its our only Hope left, but Its more than ENOUGH!!! i know that, amen.

God bless your keyboard, you, your family and all the saints on this forum, neil

You are so right brother David......much prayer, fasting, weeping and agonizing is needed. May God raise the army of praying men and women to weep between porch and the altar.

In Christ
