 Re: ACAPELLA HYMNS added...

My dear brother,

I'll cherish these hymns! I've gotten to the point where I can't listen to much else other than the old, holy hymns. The breathings of Wesley and Watts and Newton and Doddridge. What else can compare in terms of disclosing the awesome, terrible majesty of God? O Lord Jesus, thank you for this site, for our brother Greg in making these hymns available today in such a peverse, religious world where the old paths have been forgotten.

I also recommend the selections of Russell's Hymns and Congregational Hymns which are also under the "Godly music" category found on this blessed site.

Brother Paul

 Re:

Brother Paul, did you recognize Jeff's name? He's the one that led the congregational singing at the Keith Daniel meetings in Mabank, and he also leads the music at our church.
One of the songs that he taught us at church has become a favorite of mine, 'Sitting at the Feet of Jesus.'

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Oh, what words I hear Him say!
Happy place! so near, so precious!
May it find me there each day.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
I would look upon the past;
For His love has been so gracious,
It has won my heart at last.

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Where can mortal be more blest?
There I lay my sins and sorrows
And, when weary, find sweet rest.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
There I love to weep and pray,
While I from His fullness gather
Grace and comfort every day.

Bless me, O my Savior, bless me,
As I sit low at Thy feet.
Oh, look down in love upon me;
Let me see Thy face so sweet.
Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus;
Make me holy as He is.
May I prove I’ve been with Jesus,
Who is all my righteousness.

Blessings,
Joy

 Re:

I remember him! Dark hair, glasses? Tall? Yes, sister, how can I forget those blessed meetings! I didn't know that this was the same person. Praise the Lord! I will put these hymns on CD and sing in my car and thank God for moving brother Jeff to provide the body with these treasures of purity and wholeness.

Thank you!

"Sitting at the Feet of Jesus" is so beautiful and pure. It brings me to tears to read the words, for my very soul thrists for this holy, transforming place - the most blessed place in all the universe - the feet of Jesus. If you click the link you can hear the music for it on the Cyber hymnal:
