Germany Forcing Unemployed Women into Legalized Prostitution

Everytime when I read an article describing a new level of depravitity, I always wonder how much lower can a body get? IMO, this ranks among the lowest of the low.

Where are the feminists? Are they protesting?

Germany Forcing Unemployed Women into Legalized Prostitution

BERLIN, January 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - News agencies around the world are carrying the story of a young German woman, a qualified information technologist, who has been told that she faces suspension of her government relief benefits if she refuses to take a ‘job’ as a prostitute in a Berlin brothel.

The unemployed woman, who has not been named, had indicated her willingness to take jobs outside her field and has worked in a café. Britain’s Daily Telegraph reported that the woman, who has not been named, received a phone call offering her an interview for a job. She did not realize the ‘job’ was prostitution in a brothel until she telephoned. After the woman refused, she was told by the job centre that her benefits would be cut off if she did not go into prostitution.

Germany’s unemployment rate has reached the highest levels since reunification in 1990 and its welfare laws have recently been reformed. The new welfare regulations and the legalization of prostitution have combined to create a situation where women can be ‘sold’ by the state into sexual slavery.

German law no longer considers prostitution, or as it is called, the ‘sex trade,’ to be immoral or inherently undesirable. Legalised German brothels are starting to avail themselves of national listings of unemployed women to ‘hire’ to perform sexual services. Under German law, any woman under 55 who has been out of work for more than a year can be forced to take an available job or lose her unemployment benefit.

“There is now nothing in the law to stop women from being sent into the sex industry," Merchthild Garweg, a lawyer from Hamburg who specialises in such cases, said. He added, “The new regulations say that working in the sex industry is not immoral any more, and so jobs cannot be turned down without a risk to benefits.”

I read this article over a year ago. I don't know if it has been wholly implemented, but it is still sick. So satan, under the guise of the German government has call sin okay. God hasn't. Even the unsaved can see that this isn't right. It says in Revelation woe to the inhabitants of the earth because the devil has come down among you because he knows he has a short time. That hasn't even happened yet. God help us when it does.

Please forgive my cynicism, but the feminists think that prostitution is okay and should be legalized. That is why they don't protest it.

Personally, I find it horrible to think that the government would force this terrible lifestyle on anyone. Disgusting.

Hi

My husband and I moved back to Germany in December of 2004. Even though I cannot understand and I´m not sure if this story is true, since prostitution is illegal here in Germany, it is really bad over here. There are not very many Christians. A few years ago there was only 1% of the population that was saved. The people here really need all the prayer support they can get, and I apprecciate all your prayers for all the people in my country!!

God bless

I agree this is a horrific prospect, if it's true.

Nor unemployed men, presumably?

Sister,

Are you able to find a copy of the legal directive online, or of the true legal status of prostitution in Germany, and translate a few sentences of the key text for us? This would be helpful if you can.

The possibility the leading article may be false, would be some comfort.

Thanks.

 Re:

I did a search on the web using the words "is prostitution legal Germany" and I got numerous sites saying it is. Here is a link that will talk more about it:

 Re:

I feel sick to my stomach. This is worse than I thought. After doing some research here on the internet I found out that prostitution is legal here in Germany since 2002. I didn´t know about it because we were living in the States back then and I really had no clue that it has gotten that bad over here.
So yes, the Government can cancel the benefits from an unemployed woman if she doesn´t agree to "sell her body". I can´t believe it!!

 Re:

I understand your reaction. I often wonder how much worse can people get? Seems like people are groveling in the dirt to find a worst evil to indulge in or make living right more difficult. Reckon the day will come when one who refuses to practice depravity will actually have to resist with his/her own blood? I wonder.
