Nothing

Apart from Me ... you can do nothing

Oh Lord
Fill my mouth with words
And dash my proclivities to the dust

The ship is drifting
The sail is listing
I can feel it's pull
The undercurrent dragging

I will throw out the anchor
And hold fast by prayer
Lighten the load
Cast overboard
The cares and anxieties
Of this world

The air is foul
With the scent of approaching danger
Reports coming of shipmates abandoning
Heading for land

The atmosphere is thick
With the fog of deception
The attack is at hand and not far off

We are in need Lord, of provisions
Both the weak and the strong
Of endurance

Call the intercessors
On deck
The praying men
To battle

 Re: Nothing

Hi Mike,

This reminds me of the account in Acts when the men decided to ignore the counsel of the man of God (Paul) and headed off on their own way into troubled waters. I hear in these words the cry of a people who have chosen their own way and now long for direction from God. They are in danger and God has been silent. The sky has been darkened with no way to navigate the ship. No compass, no map, no stars. Blackness so thick one can't see their hand in front of their face. Just about that time the angel appeared to Paul with instructions. It was an if-then statement. All would be saved if all remained on the ship. G.W. North has a wonderful message on this called 'Shipwreck'.

If feel your heart in this brother! Even so:

Call the intercessors
On deck
The praying men
To battle

Thanks for sharing this!

Hi Robert,

You hit it precisely. It was the above that started this and perhaps 'abandoning' is too strong a word ... I don't think it was half way through that I noticed the corelation being derived from that exact account with Paul.
