I constantly must remind myself to take heed of Solomon's advice,
Quote:
12And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Hey there is nothing wrong with that! And judging from the subject matter of your library, you are putting your enjoyment to good use.
Sure, book knowledge will never bring the real answers to our souls. It can never replace fellowshipping wit the Word, reading the scriptures, nor can it suffice for actual lived truth...but we've been given intellects for a reason.
Some people might wonder how you read so much. My guess is you don't watch much television. I also suspect you carry a book with you wherever you go, making sure to use those few minutes waiting in line, a work break, ect.
Books are portable conversations about the subject matters we are curious about. Gutenburg invented a good thing!

| Re: | | Here's a quote from A W Tozer that says it all, is worth framing, posting in the Christian biography section of your church library, and simply explains why some are "driven" to read:
from pg 15 of this edition (about the middle of the first chapter) of The Pursuit of God
"Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they had found Him the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking."
You can read and perhaps learn from in a small volume of words what that individual learned in a lifetime. _________________ Bruce
