| Re: | | //you quoted Gilgamesh //
Where did I quote Gilgamesh? I just mentioned it. There are a lot of similarities to the account of Noah- way too much for chance. _________________ Todd

| Re: | | Todd writes..........
"This suggests Gilgamesh was alive very soon after the flood ended. Why would his story be so different? I am not disagreeing that the Bible version is the correct one I am just curious how these other things fit in"
Of course Todd that is exactly what you are suggesting otherwise why not cede the fact that the Bible is correct and the Gilgamesh epic is nonsense along with every other version that is in conflict with the Bible version. But the world and the atheists would be perfectly happy with your logic and your line of thought............bro Frank |

| Re: | | Frank do you know all the similarities between the Epic of G and the account of Noah?
Why are you so threatened by the similarities?
I am simply interested in how post flood history played out because we are told exceedingly little about it in scripture.
We know there was a writing about a great flood prior to Moses that talks about gathering animals and some people onto a boat, that water rose and covered everything as far as the eye could see, that birds were sent out to see if there was dry land (dove first, then swallow, then a raven). There are other similarities but obviously a lot of differences.

| Re: | | My previous explanation stands Todd. The only person who would ever be threatened by a conversation like this is the one who is not too sure about Scripture and follows rabbit trails down holes and finds themselves in wonderland.......bro Frank |

| Re: | | One of the passages OECs like to cite is Jeremiah 4:23-26. They allege it pertains to the destruction of the ancient world & a pre-Adamic race, as well as the destruction of their cities, culminating in - regardless of your stance - a recapitulation of Genesis 1:2.
Some in the OEC camp feel that Satan's fall predates the six days of creation. Like Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14 has verses about the king of Babylon which parallel the fall of Satan. Verse 17 speaks of a destruction that some feel is the same one cited in Jeremiah 4.

This lecture by Dr. Paul James-Griffiths will give you a better understanding:

My vote is "Nay."
I liken you to one of David's Mighty Men "who gave him strong support in his kingdom...who helped him in war; mighty men of valor, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear...who could draw up in battle formation..:with a perfect heart, to make David king over all Israel." I "hear" your heart for the Body of Christ. Your "joint of supply" is needed.
Be of good courage,
Mary
