 Re:

This is how the pure milk of the word works...

1Pe 1:11
searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

Psa 16:1
A Michtam of David.

Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.

Psa 16:2
O my soul, you have said to the LORD,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

Psa 16:3
As for the saints who are on the earth,
“They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”

Psa 16:4
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god;
Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,
Nor take up their names on my lips.

Psa 16:5
O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You maintain my lot.

Psa 16:6
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.

Psa 16:7
I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.

Psa 16:8
I have set the LORD always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

Psa 16:9
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.

Psa 16:10
For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

Psa 16:11
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

The Spirit of Christ was in David when he wrote this Psalm. The content of this Psalm is a prayer of Jesus.

The question is do we accept the "pure milk of the word" or do we shrink back for fear of stepping away from the traditions of men?

Jesus testifies.....

Heb 10:5
Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.

Heb 10:6
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
You had no pleasure.

In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’ ”fn

The Spirit of Jesus was in David when Psalm 16 was written as testifying of the work of Jesus as He did the will of the Father.

How does the pure milk of the word impact the traditions of men?

The Spirit of Christ was in David when David wrote this Psalm...

Psa 22:1
To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Deer of the Dawn.”fn A Psalm of David.

My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
Why are You so far from helping Me,
And from the words of My groaning?

Psa 22:2
O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear;
And in the night season, and am not silent.

Psa 22:3
But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.

Psa 22:4
Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them.

Psa 22:5
They cried to You, and were delivered;
They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.

Psa 22:6
But I am a worm, and no man;
A reproach of men, and despised by the people.

Psa 22:7
All those who see Me ridicule Me;
They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

Psa 22:8
“He trustedfn in the LORD, let Him rescue Him;
Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

Psa 22:9
But You are He who took Me out of the womb;
You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.

Psa 22:10
I was cast upon You from birth.
From My mother’s womb
You have been My God.

Psa 22:11
Be not far from Me,
For trouble is near;
For there is none to help.

Psa 22:12
Many bulls have surrounded Me;
Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.

Psa 22:13
They gape at Me with their mouths,
Like a raging and roaring lion.

Psa 22:14
I am poured out like water,
And all My bones are out of joint;
My heart is like wax;
It has melted within Me.

Psa 22:15
My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
And My tongue clings to My jaws;
You have brought Me to the dust of death.

Psa 22:16
For dogs have surrounded Me;
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
They piercedfn My hands and My feet;

Psa 22:17
I can count all My bones.
They look and stare at Me.

Psa 22:18
They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.

Psa 22:19
But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!

Psa 22:20
Deliver Me from the sword,
My precious life from the power of the dog.

Psa 22:21
Save Me from the lion’s mouth
And from the horns of the wild oxen!

You have answered Me.

Psa 22:22
I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.

Psa 22:23
You who fear the LORD, praise Him!
All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!

Psa 22:24
For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
But when He cried to Him, He heard.

Psa 22:25
My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;
I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.

Psa 22:26
The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will praise the LORD.
Let your heart live forever!

Psa 22:27
All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the LORD,
And all the families of the nations
Shall worship before You.fn

Psa 22:28
For the kingdom is the LORD’s,
And He rules over the nations.

Psa 22:29
All the prosperous of the earth
Shall eat and worship;
All those who go down to the dust
Shall bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep himself alive.

Psa 22:30
A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,

Psa 22:31
They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this.

Consider what Jesus meant by this statement....

Heb 10:7
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’ ”fn

Do you see the heart of Jesus in these Psalms of prayer?

The Spirit of Christ was in David when David wrote this Psalm...

Psa 40:1
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.

Psa 40:2
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.

Psa 40:3
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD.

Psa 40:4
Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Psa 40:5
Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.

Psa 40:6
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

Psa 40:7
Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is written of me.

Psa 40:8
I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”

Psa 40:9
I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
In the great assembly;
Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,
O LORD, You Yourself know.

Psa 40:10
I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly.

Psa 40:11
Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD;
Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.

Psa 40:12
For innumerable evils have surrounded me;
My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up;
They are more than the hairs of my head;
Therefore my heart fails me.

Psa 40:13
Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me;
O LORD, make haste to help me!

Psa 40:14
Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion
Who seek to destroy my life;
Let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor
Who wish me evil.

Psa 40:15
Let them be confounded because of their shame,
Who say to me, “Aha, aha!”

Psa 40:16
Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
Let such as love Your salvation say continually,
“The LORD be magnified!”

Psa 40:17
But I am poor and needy;
Yet the LORD thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.

Jesus under the Law given to Moses on Mount Sinai says this...

Psa 40:6
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

What does David and Jesus mean by what is said above?

 Re:

Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

You see, we love Him because He first loved us. Sacrifice and offerings were never desired by God...because the act of sacrifice and offering is evidence of disobedience. But it is of God who opens the ear so that faith comes by hearing. And it is God who speaks to man...

Psa 40:7
Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is written of me.

Psa 40:8
I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”

Faith that saves one is a faith that does what the Holy Spirit speaks. As Jesus testifies,"I delight to do Your will, O my God."

We love Him because He first loves us. This is "the Life" that Jesus demonstrated to the world.

Jesus prays to the Father...

Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

Jesus testifies that the Father has "opened" His ears.

What does this mean, "My ears You have opened"?

 Re:

Bro.rookie,

You said,"Faith that saves one is a faith that does what The Holy Spirit speaks..."

And ," We love Him because He first loved us. This is "The Life " that Jesus demonstrated to the world." .....yes He did,..and not only to us but He demonstrated His love for His Father.

That faith was demonstrated in Abraham,...hearing from God and obeying.
HE Followed GOD.(no mater how hard a thing God requested)

That faith / Life was demonstrated in Jesus,...He had ears for His Father,
God,and obeyed,...

Is this the demonstration of " The Faith" that we must Follow,if we be
Followers of Jesus?
In other words,is hearing from The Lord and obeying,...is this true faith ?

Rookie,you also asked,'What does it mean "my ears have been opened " ?

It means that God has opened our ears,(our understanding) that we can hear in the Spirit,...revealed things from Him,Who is Spirit.

Jesus said, " The Words that I speak unto you,They are Spirit,and They are Life." They are Spirit,so they must be Spiritually decerned ,so we need
to HEAR through the Spirit.( ears to hear )

Thank you rookie,your labor here is remarkable,
elizabeth

The following verses are commentary on your thoughts above...

Jesus states that there are two fathers...

Jhn 8:38
“I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen withfn your father.”

Jesus then distinguishes the difference between the two fathers...

Jhn 8:39
They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

Jhn 8:40
“But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

Jhn 8:41
“You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”

Jhn 8:42
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

The faith demonstrated by Abraham finds it's source in hearing the Father. And the fruit of receiving that faith, one will love the Father and the Son. This man will have a testimony in like nature of that of Abraham or Job.

Job 33:24
Then He is gracious to him, and says,
‘Deliver him from going down to the Pit;
I have found a ransom’;

Job 33:25
His flesh shall be young like a child’s,
He shall return to the days of his youth.

Job 33:26
He shall pray to God, and He will delight in him,
He shall see His face with joy,
For He restores to man His righteousness.

Whose righteousness is restored to man?

 Re:

Dan.9:11,...Daniel says," O Lord,righteousness be belondeth unto thee,"....

So, righteousness belongs to The Lord.He wants to work His righteousness in us,through the Work of The Holy Spirit.

Even Jesus said," It isThe Father that does the work " in Him.

 Re:

2 Cor. 4:7-9
But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved in stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was, how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory? For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness abound in glory.

Galatians 5:5
For we through the Spirit by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, against such things there is no law.

This is the inward righteousness God is working in us through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

My thoughts.
