| Re: | | As I watched I was very touched by their love for the LORD and desire to see HIM glorified. The other thing that truly stuck with me was when they were asked about why they had no electricity and the dad said that electricity brought with it a lot of distractions. movies, tv, video games were all distractions and took away time from what was important time with the LORD and family. That really made me think...

| Re: | | I have been thinking about the wife in this video. As I watched her carry on daily caring for her family, No makeup, plain clothes, simple life choices I was just very touched by her heart. I was thinking how distracting this notion of beauty is to me and to other women who walk with the LORD. I know it is because we allow it to be so and the bombardment of the world telling you must look, dress, and appear a certain way in order to be beautiful...and yet when I watched her with her children, with her family, and fellow believers there was a real beauty there that radiated out from within. Her beauty shined forth from a heart devoted to JESUS. I will never find that kind of beauty in the makeup isle or fashion trends of the day.
Just wanted to share that God bless mj |

| Re: | | The wife in this video made the same impact on me MaryJane...oh to be free from this worldly notion of beauty. Some have said that not wearing makeup or wearing plain clothes are legalistic. Not so in this woman - she just radiated Jesus. "They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed." Psa 34:5 I was really blessed by her spirit. |

| Re: | | So many insights to gain from these videos, one is the glorious promise and command of Galatians 5:1 and how difficult it can be to take hold of in particular for those of us with religious upbringing so closely linked to our culture, what does it mean to stand firm in the freedom of Christ and what freedom is really bondage. |

| Re: | | Hi Arthur,
Interesting point you make. What struck me when I watched the film was that to each of us, no matter what our cultural situation, we will have our own particular battles in remaining faithful to Christ.
For those of us who were not brought up and do not live in a religious culture, we have to stand and not be brought into bondage by the 'world'. "Not be conformed to this world". Those bought up in the Amish culture, who have found true freedom in Christ have to stand against the bondage to a religious spirit.
We should not think that they have the 'better life', because in reality it is the same for us all. No matter where we live we have to remain faithful to the truth and be "conformed to the image of Christ". It's a battle for them as much as us! _________________ Dave
