Bro! I have not read that devotional enough, I am wanting to aquire his entire works, Chambers had a grasp on the person of Christ and living for Him alone! something we all need help in.

We should start another thread on "the 4th, 5th, and 6th top books that have influenced you life."

Yes seriously perhaps a top ten or twenty book recommendation list. This sharing of the top three has been a blessing to me and I have noticed 1 or 2 items I want to look into.

 Re: Three!

I love time-tried works..

This one is probably on many lists, Spurgeon used this book to preach from many times!

Pilgrim's Progress, John Bunyan

(anything by Bunyan is wonderful, one of the very best writers period - check out his complete works published by Banner of Truth)

The Doctrine of Repentence, Thomas Watson

(anything by Watson is easy to read, very sharp and full of illustrations - I only pick this title because it was my first by him, I certainly didn't stop there **highly recommended author**)

The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment, Jeremiah Burroughs

(another incredible preacher and teacher of his times, anything by this one will lift veils and expose Jesus' true character - brilliant work)

honorable mention - any book from the "Puritan Paperbacks" series published by Banner of Truth (one of my favorite publishers, lots of good time-tried books)

A good place to hunt down these books at great prices would be discerningreader.com, the best prices I've seen out there.

I'll attempt this in chronological order :-?

The acceptable sacrifice, or the excellencies of a broken heart -- John Bunyan

The Release of the Spirit -- Watchmen Nee / Experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ -- Madame Guyon

The Shorter Catechism Explained from Scripture -- Thomas Vincent

Fox's Book of Martyrs - John Foxe

The Screwtape Letters - C. S. Lewis

(if anyone ever gets the chance to read R. A. Torrey's article "How to Pray" i would suggest they do so. :) )
