Jayme, I read these 8 pages the other day. And once this came up: "One more thing I do not worship a day, I worship the creator of that day. People say that Jesus is the Sabbath, I do not agree with it because to me Jesus is the creator of the sabbath and not the sabbath itself, and on the sabbath I worship the Lord of it all, and as He says Himself, He is the Lord of all including the Sabbath."
I said "thank God, someone understood it after all". Actually, your point of view is the only one clearly reflected in the Bible, all the others talk as if they separated themselves from what the Scriptures really say (and what the aposteles practised as well) and their "advanced spiritual view" is something the apostles did not follow, neither should we. Sabbath in theory only, but "fullfiled in Christ" and so practically without practical consequences for us , but Sunday practically yes , sorry to say most bought into traditions of man that make the word of God of none effect. You must be secretly read different books than you claim you do.
They went too far and astray with this sunny Pope day on the day of sun worship, just as the apostles went to far at one time when they asked " saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
If you read all the explicit commandments in the Bible regarding the Sabbath, as in the 10 commandments, and also as in: Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Exodus 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Exodus 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
..and do not understand the meaning of the words "perpetual covenant" as a child does, But instead come up with "adult" rationalizations you are personally more comfortable with, then Jesus words above as in Matthew 18:3. apply. Someone should warn you, it's a most serious problem of misunderstanding in human culture that creates their own rules in separation from the God of the Bible. "Shall be put to death" should be clear. It's the same as "will not have everlasting life", "have not the spirit" or "shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"
Matthew 18:3 was not only spoken to believers, it was spoken to apostles. If someone thinks themselves to be exempt from it, so in effect standing above that....i have to question if they ever been regenerated yet at all, to become indeed a new creation, that is fully enabled to understand these simple things. Just as a child can understand them and would. And do these things. That's what it means to be a child, and that my dear friends of high intellect, is required to enter into the kingdom of heaven. Jesus said so, and if you have real faith you can believe it. If your faith is "made in America" you simply can not believe that.
Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:6
