Re:

Daniel 2

"40 And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever."

This prophesy reminds me of the time we are in. Look to the divisiveness within our own nation. Seemingly, things are looking good for the prospect of overturning the slide into depravity. But listen to this article.

"REPUBLICAN SENATOR CAUTIONS BUSH ABOUT NOMINATIONS FOR SUPREME COURT

When Senator Arlen Specter, R-PA, faced the toughtest primary race of hsi political career, President Bush came to his rescue, campaigning with Specter at every turn. But when both men were re-elected this week, Specter promptly cautioned the president against nominating Supreme Court justices who would overturn the 1973 ruling legalizing abortion.

On Thursday, as outraged conservatives tried to block Specter's rise to the chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Pennsylvania senator issued a statement clarifying his remarks.

"I did not warn the president about anything," and "I have never and would never apply any litmus test on the abortion issue," he said.

The controversy suggests that, despite talk of a political mandate, the long-running battle over federal judgeships will be in full bloom when the new Congress convenes next year under strengthened Republican control......

As the second-most senior Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Specter is in line to replace the current chairman, Senator Orin Hatch of Utah, who must step down under Senate rules that limit the terms of committee chairmen to eight years.

The position will give Specter, a centrist who is known for his independent streak, great influence over the judicial confirmation process.

The issue of judicial nominations percolated throughout the elections, including Specter's own. This spring, he faced a difficult primary challenge he faced a difficulty primary challenge from Rep. Patrick J. Toomey, a conservative Republican, who labeled Specter a "Ted Kennedy" liberal who would block conservative judges if he ascended to the Judiciary charmanship.

With help from the White House, Specter won that race, and then went on Tuesday to win a fifth term in the Senate. He broached the topic of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that legalized abortion nationally, in an interview with The Associated Press.

"When you talk about judges who would change the right of a woman to choose, overturn Roe v. Wade, I think that is unlikely" that they would be approved, Specter said.

On Thursday, Specter did not dispute those remarks. He said that he was simply noting "the political reality of the Senate on the Democrats' filibustering."

end of article

The last remarks remind me of the 10 spies that came back from spying out the land and did not believe God.

In Christ

 Re:

There will come a time where the nations will be just like those spoken of in Ezekiel 22. Listen to the types of sins the Lord found in His people.

Ezek. 22:23 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 24 “Son of man, say to her: ‘You are a land that is not cleansed or rained on in the day of indignation.’ 25 The conspiracy of her prophets in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they have devoured people; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst. 26 Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, to shed blood, to destroy people, and to get dishonest gain. 28 Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, “Thus says the Lord GOD,’ when the LORD had not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. 30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. 31 Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord GOD. " Ezekiel 22

Do you see the blood in the streets? Do you see oppression brought about for monetary gain? Do you see the mixing of the clean and the unclean? Where is the heart of the people around you?

What season is it?

In Christ
Jeff

Well brother Jeff, first off Sen. Specter is no Messianic Jew, and thereby no friend of Christ, for the usual reasons ...

And to me, the season we're living in is definitely that of "Harvest" ... The questions are what have we sown that we're about to get back in spades? ... and ... Will we reap as vessels of mercy, or vessels of wrath? ...

Praise God ALL who find themselves listed of the former, for they shall be major reapers of the souls of men into the Kingdom ... Amen

 what does that mean?

"Well brother Jeff, first off Sen. Specter is no Messianic Jew, and thereby no friend of Christ, for the usual reasons."

Rahman, I'm a bit confused as to what you meant by all that. Curious, what are "the usual reasons"?

Rahman, haven't you discerned the real reason why neither democrat or republican is serious about ending abortion on demand?

get on your knees and ask God, He might tell you.

Hint...it has something to do with the reason our nation is embroiled in this sinful war in Iraq.

 Re: what does that mean?

Brother Neil,

When i posted the statement about Specter the Spirit let me know that you'd be all over it like white on rice ... The most difficult thing for the Spirit of God to do with all folk, but in particular Jews and Af/Am's, is to get us to stop operating out of our ethnic connection, and to get and stay in the Spirit connection ...

i don't mean to be rude but i don't think you're at all confused or curious about my Specter statement, but moreso tweaked by it in the flesh, as a Jew ... By my estimation it's the same reason why so many Af/Am Christians could condone Kerry's ultra liberal agenda by voting from the strictly natural stand point of being Black ...

Brother Neil get a grip ... the election is over ... God's will is apparent ...

God's Will is Done ... Pres. Bush Remains America's Leader...
http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=3595&forum=35&2

So your grief is no longer with me, but with God Himself, who's allowed this war in Iraq, and Bush to be President for four more years ... You keep blaming this war on Bush, when your bigger, and more spiritual question should be, "What is God's purpose for the U.S. being in Iraq" ... The natural man points toward the things in the natural, but the spiritual man points toward the things of the Spirit ... In the final analysis, all fingers point to God ... God allowed my ancestors to go thru the hell of slavery, as He allowed yours to go thru the hell of the holocaust, it was His will, for His reasons, and as a Christian that has freed me to seeing all things from that higher spiritual vantage point ...

You wrote,

quote;
"get on your knees and ask God, He might tell you".

Excellent advice! ... and since my life verse is Jeremiah 33:3 i'm a witness that it's not "might" tell me, but "will" answer me back, and tell me great and mighty things i knowest not ... How do you think i know the things i know? ... It's because He decided to choose this foolish one, to confound the wise ...

But if in fact you really are curious about why a non Messianic Jew is no friend of Christ, being that you are a Messianic Jew yourself, then may i suggest you follow your own advice and, "get on your knees and ask God, He will tell you" ... But will you be open to the hearing? ... i can tell you that you both won't and can't if you don't hear Him in Spirit alone ...

Gal. 3
[28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

This will be my last post to you on this matter as i'm beginning to feel like Paul in Acts chapter 16 ... i love you brother Neil, and am praying that God removes the scales from the eyes of which of us, or both of us, as needed ... Amen

 Re:

From the posting of Ezekiel 22, we learn of the manifestations of wickedness that God identified in the nation of Israel. The root of this wickedness seems to speak of the love of money doesn't it? Remember Paul's warning to Timothy, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil..." 1 Timothy 6:10

Further on in Ezekiel we find another nation that God declares judgement on. The nation of Tyre consisted of a company of traders. Listen to the description of Tyre:

Ezek. 27:1 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, 2 “Now, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre, 3 and say to Tyre, “You who are situated at the entrance of the sea, merchant of the peoples on many coastlands, thus says the Lord GOD:
“O Tyre, you have said,
‘I am perfect in beauty.’
4 Your borders are in the midst of the seas.
Your builders have perfected your beauty.
5 They made all your planks of fir trees from Senir;
They took a cedar from Lebanon to make you a mast.
6 Of oaks from Bashan they made your oars;
The company of Ashurites have inlaid your planks
With ivory from the coasts of Cyprus.
7 Fine embroidered linen from Egypt was what you spread for your sail;
Blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah was what covered you.
8 “Inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen;
Your wise men, O Tyre, were in you;
They became your pilots.
9 Elders of Gebal and its wise men
Were in you to caulk your seams;
All the ships of the sea
And their oarsmen were in you
To market your merchandise.
10 “Those from Persia, Lydia, and Libya
Were in your army as men of war;
They hung shield and helmet in you;
They gave splendor to you.
11 Men of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around,
And the men of Gammad were in your towers;
They hung their shields on your walls all around;
They made your beauty perfect.

Ezek. 27:12 “Tarshish was your merchant because of your many luxury goods. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods. 13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. 14 Those from the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules. 15 The men of Dedan were your traders; many isles were the market of your hand. They brought you ivory tusks and ebony as payment. 16 Syria was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made. They gave you for your wares emeralds, purple, embroidery, fine linen, corals, and rubies. 17 Judah and the land of Israel were your traders. They traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, millet, honey, oil, and balm. 18 Damascus was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made, because of your many luxury items, with the wine of Helbon and with white wool. 19 Dan and Javan paid for your wares, traversing back and forth. Wrought iron, cassia, and cane were among your merchandise. 20 Dedan was your merchant in saddlecloths for riding. 21 Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your regular merchants. They traded with you in lambs, rams, and goats. 22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were your merchants. They traded for your wares the choicest spices, all kinds of precious stones, and gold. 23 Haran, Canneh, Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Assyria, and Chilmad were your merchants. 24 These were your merchants in choice items—in purple clothes, in embroidered garments, in chests of multicolored apparel, in sturdy woven cords, which were in your marketplace.
25 “The ships of Tarshish were carriers of your merchandise.
You were filled and very glorious in the midst of the seas.
26 Your oarsmen brought you into many waters,
But the east wind broke you in the midst of the seas.
27 “Your riches, wares, and merchandise,
Your mariners and pilots,
Your caulkers and merchandisers,
All your men of war who are in you,
And the entire company which is in your midst,
Will fall into the midst of the seas on the day of your ruin.
28 The common-land will shake at the sound of the cry of your pilots.
29 “All who handle the oar,
The mariners,
All the pilots of the sea
Will come down from their ships and stand on the shore.
30 They will make their voice heard because of you;
They will cry bitterly and cast dust on their heads;
They will roll about in ashes;
31 They will shave themselves completely bald because of you,
Gird themselves with sackcloth,
And weep for you
With bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.
32 In their wailing for you
They will take up a lamentation,
And lament for you:
“What city is like Tyre,
Destroyed in the midst of the sea?
33 “When your wares went out by sea,
You satisfied many people;
You enriched the kings of the earth
With your many luxury goods and your merchandise.
34 But you are broken by the seas in the depths of the waters;
Your merchandise and the entire company will fall in your midst.
35 All the inhabitants of the isles will be astonished at you;
Their kings will be greatly afraid,
And their countenance will be troubled.
36 The merchants among the peoples will hiss at you;
You will become a horror, and be no more forever.’

Now listen to prophesy in Revelation 18:

Rev. 18:9 “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, “Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

Rev. 18:11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, “Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, “What is like this great city?’

Rev. 18:19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’

Do you see the root?

to be continued

In Christ
Jeff

 Re:

We are given a snapshot of an event that happens in the last days, at the time of judgement, where our Lord will be the rod of correction, the Lion of Judah. One of the ways Satan has deceived many, is manifested in the story of the Mystery of Babylon, the Mother of Harlots. Listen to Revelation 17:

Rev. 17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

Rev. 17:3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 And on her forehead a name was written:
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

What is the nature of this deception? It is said that, "the kings of the earth committed fornication," with her. In the past post we are given an example of a nation whose activities mirrow the events depicted in Revelation 18. The king of Tyre committed fornication with the Mother of Harlots. Listen to God's description of the result of the kings fornication with the Harlot.

Ezek. 28:11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, “Thus says the Lord GOD:
‘You were the seal of perfection,
Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden, the garden of God;
Every precious stone was your covering:
The sardius, topaz, and diamond,
Beryl, onyx, and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.
The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes
Was prepared for you on the day you were created.
14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers;
I established you;
You were on the holy mountain of God;
You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,
Till iniquity was found in you.

First we see that by the power of God, this man was established king of the nation of Tyre. In the book of Job, we see that God picks and destroys the kings of the earth. Listen to a description of how God rules over this world.

17 Should one who hates justice govern?
Will you condemn Him who is most just?
18 Is it fitting to say to a king, “You are worthless,’
And to nobles, ‘You are wicked’?
19 Yet He is not partial to princes,
Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor;
For they are all the work of His hands.
20 In a moment they die, in the middle of the night;
The people are shaken and pass away;
The mighty are taken away without a hand.
21 “For His eyes are on the ways of man,
And He sees all his steps.
22 There is no darkness nor shadow of death
Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23 For He need not further consider a man,
That he should go before God in judgment.
24 He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry,
And sets others in their place.
25 Therefore He knows their works;
He overthrows them in the night,
And they are crushed.
26 He strikes them as wicked men
In the open sight of others,
27 Because they turned back from Him,
And would not consider any of His ways,
28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him;
For He hears the cry of the afflicted.
29 When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble?
And when He hides His face, who then can see Him,
Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?—
30 That the hypocrite should not reign,
Lest the people be ensnared.

Now listen to God's judgement of the king of Tyre.

16 “By the abundance of your trading
You became filled with violence within,
And you sinned;
Therefore I cast you as a profane thing
Out of the mountain of God;
And I destroyed you, O covering cherub,
From the midst of the fiery stones.
17 “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty;
You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor;
I cast you to the ground,
I laid you before kings,
That they might gaze at you.
18 “You defiled your sanctuaries
By the multitude of your iniquities,
By the iniquity of your trading;
Therefore I brought fire from your midst;
It devoured you,
And I turned you to ashes upon the earth
In the sight of all who saw you.

Do you see the common thread of the deception? In a previous post we heard of the judgement of Israel. The nation of Israel was judged for the murder and oppression of the people as the kings and princes sought to secure their safety in the abundance of their treasure. Ezekiel 22:13, "Behold, therefore, I beat My fists at the dishonest profit which you have made, and at the bloodshed which has been in your midst."

The king of Tyre is judged by God's same standards. Listen to how adultery with Babylon the whore, manifestes itself in those who submit to Satan's ways.

Ezek. 28:1 The word of the LORD came to me again, saying, 2 “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, “Thus says the Lord GOD:
“Because your heart is lifted up,
And you say, ‘I am a god,
I sit in the seat of gods,
In the midst of the seas,’
Yet you are a man, and not a god,
Though you set your heart as the heart of a god
3 (Behold, you are wiser than Daniel!
There is no secret that can be hidden from you!
4 With your wisdom and your understanding
You have gained riches for yourself,
And gathered gold and silver into your treasuries;
5 By your great wisdom in trade you have increased your riches,
And your heart is lifted up because of your riches),”

Ezek. 28:6 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:
‘Because you have set your heart as the heart of a god,
7 Behold, therefore, I will bring strangers against you,
The most terrible of the nations;
And they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom,
And defile your splendor.
8 They shall throw you down into the Pit,
And you shall die the death of the slain
In the midst of the seas.
9 “Will you still say before him who slays you,
‘I am a god’?
But you shall be a man, and not a god,
In the hand of him who slays you.
10 You shall die the death of the uncircumcised
By the hand of aliens;
For I have spoken,” says the Lord GOD.’ ”

To be continued,

In Christ
Jeff

 Re:

Brother Jeff i love this thread of yours ... Your recent posts remind me of this scripture ...

Ezek.47
[3] And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.
[4] Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
[5] Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.

i'd say our Lord has you swimming man, while most are comfortable only at the ankles, knees and loins ... It takes a certain type of saint to swim in our God's river ...

Anyhow you wrote;
"In the book of Job, we see that God picks and destroys the kings of the earth".

Man, if the child of God could ever fathom this! ... We are all either vessels of His mercy, or vessels of His wrath ... Our God has it all under control, as really we as small mankind are in control of nothing, as nothing transpires without it being the will of God ... First off we who know Him should be ever praising Him that we're vessels of mercy, and be fully open to His using us in any capacity He sees fit ... We're His, bought and paid for! ... But this is not the gist of my post ...

Brother Jeff i don't know if in you're reading/researching Ezekiel if you were as struck as i was as to how much Ezekiel and the Revelation have in common ... The Revelation mentions the river that Ezekiel expounds upon ... And also have you noticed that you can't really find any good, in depth sermons on Ezekiel, as with the Revelation? ... It seems that these two books which start out in, and gives such vivid descriptions of the heavenlies, makes many a saint of God shun them, but isn't it ironic that the Revelation is the only book of the Bible with an actual blessing bestowed to all that read it, but so many preachers avoid it by saying it really doesn't affect the Church past chapter 3, so it's of no consequence to us ...

Keep swimming and diving my brother, and i'll keep reading what our Lord is working out in you ... Amen

I agree Brother. What I am seeing is that the kings of the earth, since at least Nimrod have been influenced by the Harlot.

Revelation 18
23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”

Please note that the sorcery has affected all nations and also that the blood of the prophets and saints were spilled because of this sorcery.

Brother Rahman, I fear that our teaching of these two books are limited because many have been found to be under the spell of Her sorcery. I agree that there is much to learn of the way Satan has grip over this world and these two books are the key to understanding his ways.

In Christ
Jeff
