| Re: The Value of Great Books | | Haven't read all of the article, but what I have read so far is good.
I love reading books, not so keen on online reading, but books, definately.
Television and computers do steal from real reading time.
I read once, that when you watch t.v that you only use 1/3 of your brain.
I thought, bad news if you only have 1/3 of a brain.
Not being nasty, but t.v really does diminsh the ability for us to think for ourselves.
A picture paints a thousand words is an old saying. Not scripture, had to say that for clarification, but an old saying.
So what does reading do? Maybe that is why God gave us His word to READ.
Thanks for the article.
God bless. |

| Re: | | Also have you ever read "The Final Quest" or "The Call" by Rick Joyner? I would really recommend reading those. You could actually just purchase "The Vision" by Rick Joyner which is (the final quest and the call combined in one book) Don't just take my word for it but pray about it; I think the book could be really inspiring or challenging for you. I'd like to read it again, perhaps I'd retain more. It is an incredible story by Rick Joyner of the visions he received over a period of time. _________________ Jaron

| Re: | | I recommend The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence.
A couple of hundred years old, but if you want intimacy with God it's one to read. I feel like this book when it arrived through my letter box last week accumulated every experience I'd gone through and explained it in an instant. Get it read it, and love God with all your heart!
I think there are some free version online if you Google it, certainly worth a buy though too. I think Henderson Classics have published it. |

I have spent close to $200 on paper, ink and binders during the last few years, and I re-fill my cartridges. I print all sorts of articles and have printed numerous books. I would guess I have saved well over a thousand dollars. _________________ TJ

| Re: | | I agree, however my heart is with Watchman Nee (The Normal Christian Life)
Perhaps its because of the persecuted church and how hard it must be for them that desire to read the bible openly and are persecuted for it, then again isnt China experiencing the largest Revival?
Here is just a few of his chapters, hopefully it will ignite a fire and hunger within your soul for more of HIM.
