Watch video sermons by the speaker K.P. Yohannan in youtube format. Dr. K.P. Yohannan, the Metropolitan Bishop of Believers Church, was born and brought up in Niranam, Kerala. Niranam has immense historical significance in the tradition of Saint Thomas, a disciple of Jesus Christ who planted the first church there in AD 52. K.P. Yohannan dedicated his life to God at a young age to serve the needy and downtrodden. He prayed, “Oh my Lord, let my heart break with the things that break Your heart” and his life was never the same. It’s his belief that one can only demonstrate God’s love by loving people. After over four decades of selfless service, he says, I have no regrets in praying that prayer for I know God has touched millions through what He did in and through me. It is all God’s grace.
He spent the early years of his service in North India and traveled to the remote villages sharing the love of Christ and doing charitable works. Through numerous encounters during those years, he was instilled with an increasing passion to bring hope, peace, and comfort to the needy and deprived. His sacrificial commitment, farsightedness and aptitude to perceive helped him to lead a life of unhindered devotion to serve Christ and His church. K.P. Yohannan is also the voice of Athmeeya Yathra, touching millions through his daily radio and TV broadcasts. His 250 books offer practical and spiritual guidance on hundreds of subjects.

Seeking To Know God In Prayer As Young People And Not Just Serving by K.P. Yohannan
Description: Text Transcription:
We need to go back to fundamental principle which is how many years did Jesus wait in heaven before coming to earth? While watching the creation of His hand in such darkness abuse and destroyed by Satan. He waited for 4000 years. And then it says in the Father’s time He came to this earth. Born of virgin Mary. But then how many years He would wait until He would talk to even one person about the kingdom of the Father. 30 years.
I would say this to you with an absolute certainty. Do you know that 90 percent of young people who went out as missionaries to do something for God. 90 percent of them didn’t make it and are backslidden and they are no longer walk with God. I challenge you to study this. One denomination lost over a billion in the history attrition of missionaries who had their education, their anthropology. Their interviews and everything. They could not survive.
What’s wrong with us? What’s the problem? So your question is the question everyone is asking. The young person wants to do something. Yet a young kid, 20 year old don’t have the experience of at least spending an hour on his face before God. And cannot say: “No” to lust and sin. And boyfriend and girlfriend. And do not spend time meditating and being alone with God.
Do not have one clue about spending one week in fasting and prayer. It’s all a joke. What’s the difference between that and peace corp people or somebody selling shoes and socks and building business enterprise.
And I am saying this to you. I have been doing it forty years, I have seen not one or two young people that have started with such enthusiasm. They have been brainwashed with the American pragmatic thinking: God wants to do great things through your life and you can do something significant.
We misunderstand temperament and skill and abilities as anointing and call of God. This is a horrible mistake! And the reason I am saying this to you is this. We need to see young people go to the whole world. The Muslim countries to the unreached and the needy and the poor. But I am telling you, I am more troubled and concerned for the pragmatism in missions that God has nothing to do with it.
What they need to be told. Jesus would spend thirty years suffering in the flesh, learning obedience so He can lay down His life three and finally embrace the cross. And Moses with the deep commitment took forty years for him to understand the ways of God. Because the children of Israel, it says in Psalms, they wanted to know the great miracles of God. But Moses said God I want to know You.
And God showed His deeds to the children of Israel but His ways to Moses. So I am telling you when you have 65 to 75 difference rate in the evangelical Christianity. With all the stuff going on. What do you think is wrong with us? We do not fear God. We just simply think we are almighty and He is helpless. We need to go rescue the world.
I think the number one thing to do is give these young people a chance to learn what it means to be alone and silent and seek God not for power to do great things but grace to know Him.
