Audio Sermons : ~Other Speakers G-L : Keith Green :  Dying to Self (Part 1 of 2)

Dying to Self (Part 1 of 2) by Keith Green

Topic:
Scripture(s): 1 Kings 17:8-16, Luke 12:35-37, Luke 17:7-10
Description: In this age of self-seeking and comfortable living, Keith shows that dying to self is not an option in the Christian life - it is the Christian life! A must for every Christian seeking to draw closer to God. Self-Denial is one of the most neglected themes of scriptural teaching in our day but it is crucial for salvation to experience this truth.

 Practice makes perfect
A challenge to truly die to self and live for and in Christ awesome!

Powerful examination of what it means to deny self
Excellent message about losing one’s life for the gospel. It rebukes how Christians just “stamp a fish or a dove” on their selfish activities and justify living for themselves by saying that it’s all for Christ. Keith explains that truly showing love to God doesn’t mean just seizing from the bad things in our life (our sins), but sacrificing the good things in our life for God (our passions). He shows in a very practical way what it means to "lose your life."

 A forgotten mindset!
We live in a age of christianity that has forgotten the vital teaching of "self-denial" which is so tied to regeneration that it is impossible to be truly saved and not know self denial. The cross came to crucify our selfishness.

 Awesome
One of the best sermons I have ever heard. Gave it to all my friends and everyone has the same opinion, very relevant for today and a must hear. Particularly part 1.

 Simplicity
This is great, plain, simply wise and very very clear. For years I've heard Keith Green's music, never any sermons. This should be as widely spread as possible, it will explain a lot to many people who see worldly prosperity and wealth as a sign of Christianity and think giving up the things anyone can give up is the sign of a Christian. It's all about giving (surrendering) your Ego to God, all of yourself, not a part. When that's done, keep doing it. Because whatever you have is never yours, if you have given all. It is Gods. Ours is to do the will of God in Christ Jesus. Ego, our will is dead if we are Christians, only Christ lives until the resurrection and through Him us. A piercing message even,or especially today. There is a time for everything under the sun, in God's will. The wisdom of God is as foolishness to men. That's how simplicity expressed plainly with no compromise can seem to men.

 what a challenge
This message will carve you up big time about the priorities we hold in our lives, it spoke powerfully and directly straight down the line, it is awsome.

 Incredible
It is amazing to me how the words and thoughts of Keith Green are still so anointed more than twenty years after his death. The words he said in this lesson are exactly what the world needs to hear today. Another glowing exampe of how the Word of God cuts like a two-edged sword!

 WOW
WOW.. this study will change you... if you let it.
