| | Your Reasonable Service by Jim Cymbala
Topic: Service Scripture(s): 1 Corinthians 9:1-23 | | Description: Paul did not want to do something to make his brother stumble, even if he felt liberty to do it. But the danger of causing another to fall in his right to excercise his liberty, he would rather not, if it would make one fall. Even though he had a right to expect to be supported financially by the church as a minister, he chose to work to support himself, by working with his own hands, driven to preach the gospel, but did not expect reward from anyone other than God. Paul said he was compelled to preach the Gospel. Something is wrong with believers by the multitudes who feel compelled to do nothing for Christ. We as believers need to know what the Lord placed us in the Body of Christ to do. A gripping message!

A word from God. | | Simply amazing, the Holy Spirit was definitely with pastor Cymbala in this sermon(I've yet to hear a sermon from him without the Holy Spirit speaking through). This is a touching message and it hits home for me and it's probably the same for most of us if we dig deep enough into our hearts. I hate to rate a sermon, God's the only one who truly has the right to judge anything, specially something concerning a gift of the Holy Spirit. So I give this sermon a 5-star, because it was the Lords doing through work in the life of some of His servants, and anything the Lord does is perfect. |
