| | The Centrality of the Home by Voddie Baucham
Topic: | | Description: On February 7, 2006, a group of more than 1,000 pastors and church leaders gathered for the Southern Baptists of Texas State Evangelism Conference in the Dallas Metroplex. Clear and Direct Truth for Pastors, PArents, and Youth
(June 14/2007)

This message is addressed to the mainstream church, primarily the SBC although it really can be applied much more broadly. The focus is the salvation and discipleship of youth. The speaker is thoroughly biblical and very clear and direct. This is a relatively short and excellent message that every pastor, youth pastor, youth worker, and parent who says they believe the Bible and wish to follow Christ would benefit from. Ephesians 5:15 through the first verses of chapter 6 are discussed, with the focus on the vital father-child or parents-and-child relationship. This message exposes the totally unbiblical nature of nearly all modern youth ministry as well as wrong attitudes toward children and calls for repentance and change.

I have never heard a message like this but the truth of it echoes in my spirit. We are a generation focused on workplace achievement and the satisfying of our own personal goals and desires while the spiritual development of our children is disregarded. I thank God for every children's church worker and youth pastor that has worked with my children, but God forgive me for neglecting my responsibility as a parent.
