The Candlestick - Laodicea by Carter Conlon

Topic: Laodicea
Scripture(s): Revelation 1:6, Mark 4:35, Isaiah 58
Description: Above all things we need to desire an ever increasing revelation of who our Lord Jesus Christ is. The disciples were caught in a storm, but Jesus was in their boat with them. There were other ships caught in the storm as well. But the disciples cried out in fear, not having the confidence, God was in their boat! The still didn't realize who Jesus was. We need to focus on those who need Jesus and are lost in this stormy world in these last days. No matter what storm we face as believers, we have Christ in the ship, so let's get away from the focus on self and focus on those around us who don't know the Savior! Woe to those who are at ease in Zion! (Amos 6:1).

Communion: He comes to fill us with His love and make us like Himself by Hans R. Waldvogel

Topic: Communion
Scripture(s): Revelation 1:7, Matthew 25:6
Description: “Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him.” I thought tonight, “Isn’t it wonderful that you don’t have to crucify the Son of God?” The Bible talks about those who crucify Him by “sinning willfully after they have received the gospel.” And no man can come by the cross of Christ: either you accept the blessing of it and are crucified with Him, or you crucify Him again. Strange. But here, he says, “He comes with clouds, and every eye shall see Him.” I love to think of that moment when “in a moment, and in the twinkling of an eye,” He’s going to do something for me, thank God! Oh, I want to be there; I want to be there. I heard a little girl the other day. She was sitting on a couch. Her legs were far too short to reach the floor, and she was singing and beating with her feet, “I want to be there when the moon is turned to blood; I want to be there when the moon is turned to blood.” But I want to be there when “every eye shall see Him,” and when “all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him.”

Necessity of Seeing Jesus as King by David Smithers

Topic: Kingdom
Scripture(s): Isaiah 6:1-8, Revelation 1:17, 2 Chronicles 7:1-14
Description: David Smithers challenges the hearers to examine their view of Jesus whether He truly be King or if we have focused upon attributes that best suit us. "If we're interested in kingdom work," he says, "we need to be submitted to the King." Are you subject to the King? NOTE: (Part 1 - Necessity of Seeing Jesus as King / Part 2 - Effects of Seeing Jesus as King / Part 3 - Repentance (High Quality))

The Resurrection is Real by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Resurrection
Scripture(s): Revelation 1:17-18
Description: Jesus died at about 3pm in the afternoon, so on Friday He was already dead and in the grave for almost three hours before the evening of the next day started. In the Jewish understanding any part of a day is counted as a day and night (and even in our own time measurement, for example if a child should be born at 11.59pm, his birthday would still be counted on that day, and if born the next minute his birthday would be counted with the next day. So whether you were born 12.01am or 11.59pm, almost 24h apart, your birthday would still be counted on that day!). So those three hours on Friday would be counted as a full day and night, according to the Jewish reckoning. Then you have the full Saturday (counting from the evening) and then part of Sunday again (starting in the evening again, counted as a full day and night) when He arose. The full time in the grave would then be counted, as per the Jews way of timekeeping, as three days and nights.
