The Pastor And Revival by Al Henson

Topic: Revival
Scripture(s): John 5:19-20, Joel 2:1-15
Description: Revival is ALL His work. The ability to repent is only by the grace of God. We cannot repent of our own, only by the work of the Holy Spirit. Faith comes by hearing; hearing comes by the Word of God, but the Word of God coupled with only with the Holy Spirit is really hearing and understanding. Other than that, it is knowledge. Therefore, this work of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, “WAIT” and tarry here in Jerusalem until you be endued with the power of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes there is no need to preach. What we need is to sense the need of revival and just ‘tarry’ before the Lord in prayer until we sense that God is hearing and answering our prayers by sending us the Holy Spirit that we might have genuine repentance and genuine faith and a genuine work of God.

Chapel of the Air - Interview with Dr. Orr (part 3) by J. Edwin Orr

Topic: Interview
Scripture(s): Joel 2:28
Description: An awesome question and answer session on revival; great quotes from Dr. Orr included in the interview: "...in one sense, if any congregation of God's people were to obey the light that they presently have, they would enjoy a measure of a revival." "I think if the pastor is set against it there will be no revival, and the people may have to pray that either God would change his heart or remove him." "Let the circle of the sin be the circle of confession." "...preach on sin, preach on the law."

Be Strong & Courageous by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Joshua 1:5-7, Psalm 1:1, Joel 2:2
Description: Dr. Thompson begins by recounting events from a recent trip, stressing the eagerness for youth to embrace what God is doing, as opposed to the reluctance of many of the adults. He takes time to elaborate on Psalm 1:1, quickly addresses “unconditional love,” and then discusses the Army of the Lord. All of this is within the context of Joshua 1, and the transition from Moses to Joshua. This sermon is much more practical than it sounds. (1 hr 7 min 9 sec)

Blow a Trumpet in Zion by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Joel 2, Colossians 3:4, Jude 1:11
Description: Dr. Thompson discusses the reasons for the Coming of the Lord – including His coming to cleanse His church. He mentions Balaam, Korah and Cain, and how they represent different types of people that are in every church. He asserts that there are aspects of Jesus that we, as a church, seem to know nothing about, especially the no-nonsense, fiery Judge aspect of Christ. When He returns, many in the church will be expecting to be swept away by “Good ‘ol Happy Jesus” but will instead meet Fire.
