Bringing The Power Of God Into Prayer by Carter Conlon

Topic: Corporate Prayer
Scripture(s): Acts 4:23-31,Acts 3:1-6,Psalm 21:8
Description: It's a sad statement about affairs of the church when a crippled man lays near the gate outside the sanctuary, expecting only spare change. When you know the heart of God, why he came to die for sinners, you will boldly be able to speak the truth, with real spiritual authority into the lives of others. The world around us is lost and dying, and we as the church need to pray the power of God down into the homes and hearts of people who so desperately need God.

(People God Uses) 01 The People Used by God by Chuck Smith

Topic: People God Uses
Scripture(s): Acts 3:1-9
Description: Chuck Smith gives three characteristics that God is looking for in people that have a desire to serve Him. God wants us to be the people of prayer, faith, and not seeking glory for ourselves, but to give glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. Chuck reminds us that God has to prepare a vessel first for the work that He already ordained that should be accomplished for Him. God first must work in us before He can work through us.

20 Principle 16 - The Church Was Birthed In Prayer by Principles For The Gathering of Believers

Topic: Audio Books
Scripture(s): Acts 4:24-30, Acts 1:24-25, Acts 3:6
Description: Prayer is not just one of the functions added to an Assembly meeting, it needs to be the life and atmosphere of a New Covenant gathering under the Headship of Christ. The Church was birthed in prayer. It was sustained in prayer. When they were persecuted they called a prayer meeting.285 Prayer was the beginning of the great commission. The disciples prayed for a successor after Judas died.286 Peter prayed for the lame man at the temple gate.287 Stephen prayed for his persecutors when he was being martyred.288 Prayer was the main activity of the Church. Ananias was praying when God directed him to anoint one of the early key leaders of the Church.289 Peter the Apostle was praying when God directed him to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles.

(People God Uses) 03 Beware of Ambition by Chuck Smith

Topic: People God Uses
Scripture(s): Acts 3:12-13
Description: God is looking for men and women that are not seeking to glorify themselves, but to give glory to God. People that begin to take glory for themselves soon become unusable by God. God can set us aside in a hurry. We should have no personal ambitions for greatness if we want to be used by God.

Bringing Your House To Spiritual Victory by Carter Conlon

Topic: Household Salvation
Scripture(s): Acts 10:30-33
Description: (preached: Dec. 7, 2003) What an outstanding message of exhortation! Using the account of Cornelius in Acts 10, Pastor Conlon shows us that we should have an expectancy that God is going to move among our family and those around us, an expectancy that our lives will change every day.

Converted by The Spirit by Tim Keller

Topic: Conversion
Scripture(s): Acts 10:27-47
Description: Keller addresses three important principles about Christian conversion. First, we are not capable of finding God unless we experience spiritual conversion initiated by God. Second, Christian conversion is not a call to morality and religion; it is a challenge to morality and religion. Third, conversion happens by the transformation of the Holy Spirit.

Fear of Rejection by Carter Conlon

Topic: Rejection
Scripture(s): Psalm 22:1-2, Galatians 3:24, Acts 17:28
Description: When the Holy Spirit convicts you of something needing changing, and guilt and condemnation set in, and aware of your own struggle, you fear the Lord is tired of your failures and has rejected you. Because of past wounds in their lives, some fear God will reject them as people sometimes have. You can determine to live a new life in Christ, secure and have the assurance you so desperately need. When the Word comes and voices arise to condemn you, you can shoot them down (Is. 54:17). God loves you enough to not let you by with sin that will destroy you. Come to him for cleansing, forgiveness, and peace and rest.

God No Longer Winks at Unbelief by David Wilkerson

Topic: Unbelief
Scripture(s): Acts 17:28-31
Description: September 24, 2006. This message makes a bold statement that there is no suffering, calamity, tragedy or even death of a loved one that can excuse distrusting the faithfulness of God. There is no suffering that justifies unbelief. Jesus Christ came as a full revelation of all the provision He made to have faith to endure every circumstance. In this day of grace, God will not and cannot wink at unbelief. We as Christians have been given a full revelation of the power of Jesus Christ through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. God says He will not listen to the language of unbelief since He has given us all knowledge, wisdom and promises to become a partaker of His very nature.

A World of Idols by Tim Keller

Topic: Gospel
Scripture(s): Acts 17:16-34
Description: The gospel should change not just our inner being but also the way we relate to the outside world. Paul engaged with society every day. He was distressed, indignant and compassionate about the Athenians' beliefs, but he kept his eyes on the cross to inform his words. He recognized their idols and raised up Jesus as the only true God.
