A Word For Those Who Feel Like Quitting by Carter Conlon

Topic: Giving Up
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 1:8-11
Description: October 3, 2010 - You might say you started your walk with the Lord with such optimism and all of a sudden you are fighting wars within and wars without. You know the battle is fierce and in and of yourself you have no power to get through your situation. The enemy will roar in your ear with the lie that your circumstance is greater than your God. This message encourages us that if Christ is in us we will never be overpowered by the voice or strategy of the devil. God will take you through before He takes you out. He will give you supernatural strength and your testimony will be Jesus took me through. Never give up because God is on your side!

Our Ambition is to Please Him by Paul Washer

Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 5
Description: Every person has passion. Even the man sitting in an easy chair has an ambition to not be ambitious. We're so busy with so many pursuits that we shouldn't follow. Some of those ambitions will destroy us if they aren't right ambitions. For what ambition were you intended to be swallowed up by life for? What awaits you?

Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ for the Sake of Making Him Known by John Piper

Topic:
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 3:15–4:6
Description: John Piper affectionately addresses his congregation to be evangelists and the right spirit in doing so. The right kind of evangelism flows from seeing and savoring Jesus Christ not from private revelation but the revelation of the Holy Spirit of Christ in the Bible. When we are directed back to the portrait of Christ, it is the key to all evangelism and our transformation.

11 Principle 7 - The People of God Are the Church by Principles For The Gathering of Believers

Topic: Audio Books
Scripture(s): Exodus 36, 2 Corinthians 3:6, Acts 7:48-51
Description: Considering Church history and the moving of God’s Spirit in many groups that stood for the truth, a house Church or small gathering of believers is not so radical. Rather, gathering in this way is a preferred Biblical approach, especially when the Church is under persecution. If it was important to have specific church buildings to represent God and spread the Gospel, would God not have commanded them in Scripture? Although we find detailed instructions for the tabernacle in the Old Testament122 we find quite a different emphasis in the New Testament.123 We see this truth prophetically spoken by Stephen just before he was martyred: “However, the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says: ‘Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house will you build for Me? Says the Lord. Or where will My resting place be? Has not My hand made all these things?’ You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!”
