Eight Ways Of Deceiving Ourselves by Zac Poonen

Topic:
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 11:2-3, 1 Corinthians 3:18
Description: It is important to remember that the first sin in the human race came through deception and that Satan today is the deceiver of the whole world. Zac Poonen shares on eight areas we are prone to being deceived and how to protect ourselves. "It is only God's mercy," he exhorts, "that can save us from deception."

(Genesis) - Part 5 by Zac Poonen

Topic:
Scripture(s): Genesis 3:6-14, 2 Corinthians 11:2-4
Description: Why does God allow temptation to come? Behind the first temptation of the devil was this false grace to comfort people in their sin, whereas every word from God is a challenge to deliver from sin. Satan still seeks to lead Christians away from simple devotion to Christ, which is simple obedience to what God has said.

Without spot or wrinkle by Erlo Stegen

Topic:
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 11:2
Description: There is the way of the world and God's way of holiness. The world gets engaged with a party, drinking and boozing, but we as Christians do it in God's house with prayer and in holiness. Some say that there are many ways to celebrate an engagement. Yes, there certainly are many ways to hell but only one way to heaven. The ring the young man gives to his future bride is a token and promise that he will keep himself pure for her until the day of marriage; in receiving the ring, the girl makes the same promise. Young people should live like Mary the mother of Jesus. When the angel told her that she would bare a son, she replied, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” (Luke 1:34) She lived a holy and pure life as we read in 1Cor 7:34, “The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit.”

The Gospel of Accomodation by David Wilkerson

Topic: False Gospel
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 11:4, Galatians 1:6
Description: Accommodate means to adapt, to make suitable and acceptable, to make convenient. A gospel of accommodation is creeping into the United States. It's an American cultural invention to appease the lifestyle of luxury and pleasure. Primarily a Caucasian, suburban gospel, it's also in our major cities and is sweeping the nation, influencing ministers of every denomination, and giving birth to megachurches with thousands who come to hear a nonconfronting message.

(The Mission and Ministry of the Holy Spirit) The Communion of the Holy Spirit by David Wilkerson

Topic: Communion
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 13:14
Description: 2 Cor. 13:14 is the passage featured. Bro. Wilkerson carefully explains why the Holy Ghost was sent, and how to commune with him. It is much more simple than most think, yet much more vital to allow this communion, even hungrily seek it, than we realize. Jesus would not have asked the Father to send us a Comforter he knew we wouldn't need. We need to know why he was sent, why he dwells in us, and allow him to do what the Father sent him to do.

Interceding for others by Manley Beasley

Topic: Intercession
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 6:2
Description: Manley Beasley preached this sermon in the 1980's about the Christian's responsibility that today is the day of salvation. He shared how God dealt with his heart that he had received the grace of God as a gift through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as well as the saints who have gone before. He pleads with the church to wake up and stop playing church games, for souls are in the balance for their day of salvation.

The Call Of God - A Loving Father In Heaven by Zac Poonen

Topic:
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, 2 Corinthians 7:1
Description: "One of the byproducts of knowing God as Father was it delivered me from competition with other believers," speaks brother Zac. Knowing God as Father is one of his favorite subjects, never tiring to share how much liberty comes in the Christian life, assurance that truly all things work together for good, and the deliverance from counterfeit holiness that comes from the fear of man.

What Is the Recession For? by John Piper

Topic:
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 1:1-11
Description: This is a message about God’s purposes in the recession. By recession I don’t have any sophisticated definition in mind. I just mean various financial setbacks like business slowdown, decreasing profits, massive layoffs and joblessness, the bursting of the housing bubble, thousands of foreclosures, personal and business bankruptcies, bank failures, investment company collapses, the loss of retirement funds, and the social ills and unrest that go with the downturn. God is sovereign over these things, he foresees them all, he causes or permits them all, and when he causes or permits something, he does so with purpose and design.

According To My Righteousness by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Psalm 18:20-29, 2 Corinthians 7:1, 2 Peter 2:21
Description: Dr. Thompson discusses the monumental lie that pervades current Christian churches that the purpose of Grace is to serve as an alternative to living righteously. Grace is being presented, he says, as an excuse to live however we want, yet still receive eternal life and blessing from God. He asserts that, as Psalm 18 says, God will reward us according to our righteousness. Rather than grace being an excuse for unrighteous behavior, it is the very power and ability to live righteously.

A Concern for Holiness and Its Cost by Ernest C. Reisinger

Topic:
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 7:1, 1 Peter 1:15-16
Description: Ernest C. Reisinger shares he heart plainly on this subject of holiness at a conference where J.I. Packer was a speaker. He quotes Ravenhill part way through the sermon stating he "wished someone would simply just read the bible and believe it." And he didn't finish the statement "and put us all to shame." This is a great theological talk over the subject of holiness and will cater to more holiness in your life personally.
