Being Made Trees of Life by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Ezekiel 47:3-7, Ezekiel 37:6-7, 1 Corinthians 15:45
Description: Dr. Thompson says once we hit Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has two main purposes in our life: one is to give us power to witness & minister, and the other is to give us victory over the sin in our life. He discusses in great detail the general progression of growth in a Christian’s life, as typified by the depths of water detailed in Ezekiel 47. This sermon focuses on “water to the loins”, which he says represents the struggles to put our own will to death, and shift toward God’s will in our daily life. (59 minutes 14 seconds)

(Luke) 01a - Introduction Cont. by Ed Miller

Topic:
Scripture(s): Luke 3:6, Luke 19:10, 1 Corinthians 15:45-47
Description: Continuing with his themes he has outlined in Luke, Ed Miller shows how Luke is a gospel that focuses on missions and evangelism, for Jesus truly came for all. It has also been referred to as the "happiest gospel", for there is much on joy and thanksgiving. Furthermore, Luke writes simply, with many stories of contrast and finally, he is the author that mentions the Holy Spirit the most and of how Jesus as man lived completely in the power of the Holy Spirit. Both parts of this introduction will certainly wet the appetite to study and drink in this unique gospel.

United in love by Erlo Stegen

Topic:
Scripture(s): 1 Corinthians 13:13
Description: Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” God's children have this mark upon them, that they have fervent love for one another. When one of the members suffers, the others have compassion on that person as if they are suffering themselves. We must be one in the things of the Lord; one in humility, accepting God's Word and applying it to our lives and obey it. We cannot claim to be of one heart when there is division and each one pulls his or her own way. If we are not united then there is something wrong in our midst. We must even be united in our thoughts, and in what we hate. If there is no hatred in your life towards sin and abhorrence for the world, you are rotten and good for nothing in God's Kingdom. You must hate the world and the things of the world – the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride and haughtiness of life.
